Where to for quality Rugby journalism???

You're Radio, right Inside Shoulder? Bruce Ross when it comes to incisive commentary about our great game, I don't think we can do any better than Viscous Growden quoting a New Zealand commentator spouting questionable 'news'. Well he must know all then. Arguably Messrs O'Connor and Beale...

I like to call myself a jornio (hi Campo!)

Where to for quality Rugby journalism???

I think the young ones today describe it as "meta" (not to be confused with meat - as in pie - Grumbles, if you're reading)

http://www.espnscrum.com/australia/rugby/story/194717.html Congrats Inside Shoulder on the mention. Although I never would've described your posts as having a thick, sticky consistency.

    Waratahs 2014

It's shithouse Inside Shoulder. There's no way Cheika said that. I think I know why that grated on you...That quote was written by a media bunny who has sat through too many 'fan engagement strategy' powerpoint presentation circle-jerks where some latte-sipping nuff nuff avoids using verbs for...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2013

Scrubber2050 That will affect ALL clubs (even Bank & Uni). I understand that cuts have also hit the QRU directly- heard word of a redundancy or two in community rugby.

Wallabies Squad - the Link Era

But it's always comforting to know that the more things change, the more they stay the same... JOC (James O'Connor)'s still a flyhalf.

Match report from Uni website. The match was a cracker, and it was a fantastic day down at GPS. Great burger-work from the home side! http://uqrugby.com/index.php?page=677&ssid=677&mid=3 Uni usually post up highlights clips on YouTube during the week. I'll post when I find it.

    Reds 2014

I could be wrong, but if memory serves me correctly when Jono signed with the Tahs Foley was on his way to the Rebels and KB (Kurtley Beale) was still a Rebel who we all thought was negotiating a contract with the Rebels. Money was probably a factor, but there was also an opening for a chance at a starting gig...

    Rebels 2014

I like where you're going masai - compensation to clubs of some kind for an exploitative practice. Rather than restricting where players play, perhaps a "transfer fee" paid to the club as a thanks (sort of) that could go towards developing further players? It might only be 1-2% of the contract...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2013

I don't think 'importing' players is what Chirpin is referring to - surely not! I'd be surprised if he isn't privy to the inner financial transacions of other clubs without being equally conversant with the financial transactions of his own club. I expect he attended every AGM in Brisbane...

Aus vs NZ - 1st Test Sydney 17Aug2013

In terms of absolute skill level there really isn't a huge amount of difference between the top 1-2% of rugby players (as much as we might argue till we're blue in the face that there is). So I think the large training squad serves a number of functions All of the moves and the whole game...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2013

That's quite an inflammatory post there Don't be chirpin, especially since they can (mathematically at least) still make the finals while Easts can still miss out if results go against them.

    Rebels 2014

Unfortunately KevinO he is playing very well for GPS and my lot are taking them on at 3pm on Saturday.

    Rebels 2014

Except KevinO now Bryce Hegarty is playing for GPS in Brisbane. If you could send him back to Melbourne before Saturday at 3pm that would be ace!

    Rebels 2014

Dave Beat - I actually agree with you. I don't think there are simple answers, and I don't think one answer fits all. I'd like to see it approached on a case by case basis, but if it were I'm sure we'd be on a different thread arguing that there is no consistency with decision-making. There...

    Rebels 2014

Thanks for your take on it Dave Beat. Does that mean that if Jono Lance was to play at Manly next year during Super Rugby season (if he doesn't get in the starting line up, that would mean most weeks) you'd be happy to release him once the Tahs' season was over in July or August to play for...
