    Reds v Wales, Suncorp Stadium - 19/7

The host nation retains revenue from tests that fall within the international windows (on the assumption that the tours will be reciprocated?). This isn't a test, so I assume Wales would request and receive an appearance fee, to at least cover their expenses and match fees - and probably more...

    Reds v Wales, Suncorp Stadium - 19/7

Presumably they are paying Wales too? So they will need to make a fair bit back to earn any revenue from it

    Wallabies 2024

Is Gleeson the back up 7 now?

    Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

Our current under 18 development team would suggest not

    Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

Why does it have to be at school? I agree they don't have the resources and the state unions doesn't have the funding to do anything there anyway

    Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

I don't think there's any problem with what the schools do, in fact we would barely have a pro level sport in this country without the fee-paying parent subsidy of these rugby programs. My main concern is there doesn't seem to be a viable alternative if you aren't at one of these 20 odd schools...

    Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

Looks like the Victorian pathway has dried up somewhat too
  8. Strewthcobber

    Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

Did we manage any state schools this year, or are we at 100% reliance for private school rugby for our development?

    Wallabies v Georgia 20 July - Allianz Stadium 3.45PM

I don't think he's particularly noted for it, especially compared to some of the locks, eg Swain, Skelton. Maybe he organisers the lineout structure a bit better than those on the field last week? It could scarcely be worse

    Wallabies v Georgia 20 July - Allianz Stadium 3.45PM

And only received a yellow card for it (upgraded afterwards). The red card was 5 tests before that one

    Waratahs 2025

A number of those "unsigned guys" would have a contract in place, it just hasn't been announced yet. I know at least one member of that list has happily signed-up for next year
  12. Strewthcobber

    Waratahs 2025

He could come and join all the other hi-vis fly-in/fly-out crew at Brisbane airport at 5:30am
  13. Strewthcobber

    Waratahs 2025

He's signed a lease on a rental property in Brisbane if reports are to be believed
  14. Strewthcobber

    Reds v Wales, Suncorp Stadium - 19/7

Looks like most of the gold/platinum tickets on the bottom tier have been sold, but still plenty of cheaper seats on the ends available. Top tier doesn't look open. Based on that I'll guess 13k - 18k
  15. Strewthcobber

    Wallabies 2024

Can't be too many times that a player has presented the jersey to a guy older than him
  16. Strewthcobber

    Brumbies 2024

I think it was that and then magic round
  17. Strewthcobber

    Wallabies v Georgia 20 July - Allianz Stadium 3.45PM

If he puts out the team he played against Wales last week then that leaves all of the Reds players above ready for the Welsh XXXX Gold Challenge.
  18. Strewthcobber

    Wallabies v Georgia 20 July - Allianz Stadium 3.45PM

Would you not just play most of the Reds squaddies ie Wright, Wilson, McDermott, Lynagh etc for Reds v Wales, sub Frost in for Blyth and get him a start against Wales too? Great opportunity to get two teams worth of games against international opposition this weekend
  19. Strewthcobber

    Brumbies 2024

I'm only guessing here, but I reckon The Brumbies representing the ACT and Southern NSW Rugby Union probably have a bit of support in southern NSW

    Wallabies v Georgia 20 July - Allianz Stadium 3.45PM

Every coach in World Rugby would rather the opposition had the ball on the 40m line, over us having the ball on the 25m line. The kick itself is secondary to achieving that outcome. They trust the defence, and a turnover/penalty to the defence is the more likely outcome, especially when a team...
