    James Horwill cited for stamping

(Disclaimer- I look at this from a different angle as South Africa uses Roman-Dutch law, which differ slightly from the common law which are applied in these cases) I found the reasoned decision quite interesting, but would have handled the appeal differently if it was my case. The appeal...

    South Africa v Samoa

Kinky You watch one guy grab another's wedding tackle and you want to rub one (samoan) out.

    South Africa v Samoa

Dunno standing around for two hours waiting for kick off must dulled their focus. (game was at 17:00)

Could you be more specific? What do you find so strange about this thread?

I can see why you say that. When JJ is pumping his legs through the tackle the resemblance is clear. Without taking anything away from JJ, Fourie had a lot more to his game than what JJ has shown so far. What I like about JJ is that he brings a freak athleticism that is missing from the rest...

2013 IRB Junior World Championship - France

It is a little complicated. A player is bound to a nation if he plays for a second team against another second team. SA, France and Wales have nominated the u20s as their second team, so the two props will be bound to france if they play against SA this evening.

Fucken 191cm 105kg midget. (according to the Sharks website, don't believe he's that tall personally).

It appears your mistaken on two counts. Neither Coetzee or Botha are opensides, rather hard-working, if nor very big blindsides. ps. Coetzee will pack down on the openside.

So Meyer has opted against rotating players with the only changes being Pienaar coming in for the injured Jano Vermaak and Coetzee replacing groom-to-be Louw. Kolisi and Van Zyl move onto the bench. It shouldn't be problem for this game, but a really underwhelming loose quartet. I am a fan...

Louw has been from the squad as he due to get married on Sunday. F Steyn did the same thing last year. Personally I think this bullshit. Sure this is just a job to the guys, but this is test rugby, surely they could have done this any other time of the year.

2013 IRB Junior World Championship - France

Thanks, expected it to be Savea, bit surprised about Guildford. Anyway, depending on how much he plays from here on, Senatla has a good chance of matching or bettering the record.

Though I agree that Brussouw should be there, I fear the problem with clearing is a coaching issue. Under Meyer/Van Graan the forwards are taking up a position over the ball instead of clearing the bodies out of the ruck leaving the ball open for halfback to play quickly.

Anyone have an idea what the individual record is for tries in a tournament? Senatla is currently on 6 and will probably play at least two of South Africa's three remaining games.

Don't really see how box-kicking opens up the back field. I'd much rather we use the space created with the wingers back to run the ball back, if the winger are up, kick in behind them. In last year's test at Dunedin there was one instance where SA had scrum just outside their 22. NZ had four...

It was mixed, there was poor one out to Jean in the first half that landed in no-mans land, spoiling a two man overlap, but there was very good one to Basson in the build-up to Jean's try.

Defintely, but I am not too worried. It is the sort of thing that will improve as the guys get more time together. There was a definite "softness" about the boks tackling on the day. I don't want harp about it, but Spies and Kruger were seriously soft meaning that turnovers were hard to get...

    The Pulverisation of Australian Rugby

Don't know about that. You are excluding the likes of Ross Kennedy, Alistaire Hargreaves, Jacques Potgieter, guys who are only really internationals in name only and their salary expectations won't necessarily be skewed by their fifteen minutes of fame. Truth is they should never have been...

2013 IRB Junior World Championship - France

Don't know what level "colts" represent, I assume u/21's, but to compare it to the South African preparations. The junior Springboks played three games early this year against three Uni first teams (University of the Western Cape, university of Cape Town and Stellenbosch University) and then...

    The Pulverisation of Australian Rugby

True, but... Why limit the field to uncapped players, in this case it limits the potential signings without any direct benefit. Secondly, mid table Top14, Aviva and Rabo teams are also in the market for these workhorses. The ARU is stepping into a market place where they will end up being...

    The Pulverisation of Australian Rugby

Lets ignore the wholesale poaching issue for moment. What are the ARU trying to achieve here. Strengthen the Force and Rebels in the short term by broadening the net for talent while possibly helping the Wallabies, seems fair enough, but in practice I can't see that working. The rule...
