    SA Match Reports

The Sharks/Stormers result wasn't that great a shock tbh. The Sharks haven't been playing for very long time now, but have been winning. The Stormers have actually been pretty good over the last month. The real shock for me was the Bulls-Lions game. The Lions were plainly rubbish in...

    Brumbies v Bulls R15 2014

I don't thin people appreciate how good this Bulls team is playing. They were within a couple a refereeing errors (of which there were many) of winning all their games on tour. Since being back home they have taken apart the Strormer in much the same fashion as the Brumbies were. At the same...

SA Rugby- Looking a Bit Broken Right Now

Two points. Firstly I hope you are wrong about Meyer's influence in Pollard's move to the Bulls. He finished school in 2012 when Meyer was already Bok coach for a year. Pretty fucked up of the national coach to be luring to a team he should in theory have nothing to do with. Secondly, he...

SA Rugby- Looking a Bit Broken Right Now

Fair enough, but outside of Whiteley (who is being ignored by Meyer) I don't see any players there actually going anywhere. The Lions franchise have been the sick man of South African rugby for twenty years now and the current lot are very unlikely to change that any time soon.

SA Rugby- Looking a Bit Broken Right Now

Over the last month Goosen has been playing a lot better. He's running straight and very very kicking well tactically. Dare I say it, but he is finally getting back to where he was before his injuries. Still has a lot of scope for improvement, but I would be quite happy with him starting and...

SA Rugby- Looking a Bit Broken Right Now

I am a lot less concerned than I was a month ago. The Sharks are not playing particularly well, but they are winning. The bulls are in scarily good form at the moment. With fewer fresh injuries, finally a couple home games, the stormers are finding some rhythm. The Cheetahs are the...

Fairy fucking muck, but you are not my answering the question

    Refereeing decisions

(cat and pigeons) The way the game is refereed today, what do you do when you are being held back by the leg in back play?

    Stormers Vs Force, Rd 14

Pollock won't enjoy the replay, especially the two yellows he gave against the the stormers. First man in, waiting for the ball to be placed, cleaners being useless. Pretty hard to spot offences on either yellow. (missed a pretty blatant one on van Wyk though)

Super Rugby - I am bored

I totally agree. I won't lie, the poor performance of the South African sides (especially the stormers) aren't helping, but it is more than that. Firstly the season is too long. There are too few make or break games. A resurgent Crusaders played a classy Chiefs side over the weekend, but...

    Stormers v Tahs, round 8 2014

All things considered not too bad.

    Stormers v Tahs, round 8 2014

Injuries and disruptions are playing a massive role, but the Stormers' defense is still top notch. The Reds had about three quarters of the ball on Saturday and even more of the good ball, yet they were only able to score a single try. The Stormers lost the game because they couldn't build...

    Sharks v Tahs, round 7 2014

TBF the ref had given three or four warnings at that stage for silly stuff, really had no choice by then to either deal with it or allowing an all out brawl. Dennis deserved a yellow if for no other reason than being thick as.

    Reds v Stormers Rd 7 2014

The Stormers are missing - Eben Etsebeth, De Kock Steenkamp, Ruan Botha, Raynard Elstandt, Manuel Carriza, Gerbrand Grobler and Jean Kleyn - and those are just the locks, add Tiaan Liebenberg and Scarra Ntebeni at hooker and it pretty obvious why the line-out misfired. In the end they just...

    Sharks v Tahs, round 7 2014

Let me know if you fancy tipple before the Stormers game, I will probably going.

    NZ Match Reports

The problem is refs are letting holding back go in the spirit of keeping the game flowing unless the defending player retaliates. What should be happening is that teams are found to be holding defenders back, they should be penalised, and if they continue to do it there should be yellow cards...

If you could change the laws of rugby, what would you change?

Anyway, I would like to see two changes and one reinterpretation. 1- Get rid of the tackler exception at the tackle situation. For tackler to make a legal steal from the "wrong" side, tackler needs to make the tackle, go to ground, release the tackled player, get to his feet and beat the...

If you could change the laws of rugby, what would you change?

The quality of the game is decided by the players, but I think commentators and referees often forget this. Do you remember Mexteds doctrine that three shouldn't be more than 7 or 8 penalties in a half of rugby? That's bullshit, sometimes teams infringe thirty times in a half and those cases...

    Northern Hemishpere Rugby 2013

How does this thing with the Welsh regions work anyway. On page 69 of the IRB handbook #mce_temp_url# it says - Surely the regions can't simply upsticks and join the AP without the consent of the WRU.

    Northern Hemishpere Rugby 2013

Surprised about Stander. He was hyped as future long-term Springbok before he left, many thinking he would captain the side in the future. People were surprised and disappointed when he decided to join Munster while being in the wider training group. Saw one game he played at Munster and...
