    Sydney Subbies 2019

HAC should be made to go up. Winning 1st and 2nd grade this year and the year before winning Barraclough. 3rd DIv will be a joke in 2019 if it stands as is with clubs in name only nominating with pipe dream recruitment results their only hope. Good luck to them but I can see nothing but...

Newport have confirmed former one time Rats player and coach Eddie Wayling as 1st grade coach for 2019. Think he also coached the womens 7s and in Japan many moons ago.

Good find Chip, almost all of them comically were for supposed high tackles. The big take out for me from the AGM report is the 16% or 800 players that walked away from playing rugby from 2017. Here’s hoping they come back in 2019.

Iggies is a tricky one. Their strength often comes off the back of their Colts. Where that puts them this far out from August 2019, I just don't know. But 1st and 2nd grades will need to make some inroads from this year. From what I saw this year Iggies will be in a similiar boat to almost...

    Sydney Subbies 2019

I think we all know the answer to that. Starting from the ARU board down it is head in the sand stuff. Subbies should be calling for submissions from clubs now on different ideas around different competition make ups. Then all clubs should meet in November and vote for the best proposal (all...

Does anyone know how much the ARU pumps into the NRC?

    Shute Shield 2018

Considering it took 45 mins to get a beer there was plenty of pissed units at North Sydney. Uni far to good upfront for Rats and probably deserved to win by another 20 points.

    I like it.

They will lift over time. I don’t you can win multiple higher grade premierships and then worry how competive their lower grades will be.

Push HAC and Forest up and bring in Iggies and HV. HAC won Barraclough last year and has now won 1st and2nd grade in Div 3. They would hold their own in Div 1

Agreed. Even if it is only another twos weeks it will be a struggle to keep this generation engaged.

BOBs supporter told me yesterday of a rumoured Brothers/St Ives merger next year. Heavyb? Any intel

Div 3 1st: BOBs vs HAC. 29-29, 32-29 and 17-18 show how close these battles have been this year. I’ve always favoured the team who has the week off but I’m going to go with BOBs. They’ve been the benchmark all year and I think with a raucous BOBs crowd on hand will prove the difference. BOBs...

Drummoyne kicked out of 3rd grade semis for 3 red cards. Mosman get the week off and straight into the semis.

    Sydney Subbies 2018

Outside of the top two divs it’s about year to year survival for many clubs. Players are retiring early, particularly if they win a premiership and tradies are just reluctant to risk injuries. Long long gone are the days Subbies had leverage with threats of relegation. Much better to Be the...

If Penrith form next year from ex players it will cause havoc at clubs like HAC and Blue Mountains. The HAC 2nd grade side has roughly 8 guys that started in 1s before the arrival of Emus. Not saying there is anything wrong as it was vital to keep them playing rugby. Just if Penrith are coming...

Lol. Could be a first. Getting a red card for punching a team mate!

    Sydney Subbies 2018

Well done to BOBs and hopefully they go on with it next week and beat HAC. Plenty of red and yellow cards across DIV 2 and DIv 3 today. The Forest vs Blue Mountains game looks like it was a see sawing cracker. Looks like the red card for Forest was a 2nd grader which means he will miss...
