    Waratahs 2024

Was it Marley Pearce's first year out of U20s when he debuted at SRP (Super Rugby Pacific). I think it was, so something similar to Jack Barrett. Even Pearce looked a lot smaller than his direct opposites when he packed the scrum, and he was also playing prop while he had played mostly, maybe exclusively, at Hooker...

    Round 7: Brumbies v Waratahs, Sat 6th 7.35PM AEDT @ GIO Stadium

Actually, I am not as harsh on Pietsch as some of the posters here. By the time he was being challenged by Gordon, he had outrun his supports. They were both over 5m behind in my book and were not in a position to take a pass. In the split second Pietsch had to make a decsision he probably...

Golden point extra time? I'm not sure it can be a draw these days.

    Wallabies 2024

I like the comment - not sure I like the prospect while he continues to have so many issues/problems with his hands and one-on-one defence.

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

The Melbourne way of doing things.

Most of the niggle was also very much in his field of vision, eg, the Lomani rabbit killer was right next to him. As I said at the very start to the game, Murphy is a prime example of why TMOs are required in the game. Too many errors and unseen law contraventions.

    Round 7: Brumbies v Waratahs, Sat 6th 7.35PM AEDT @ GIO Stadium

Been raining steadily all night and lots of water pooling on the ground. If it turns into a wet, muddy slog, this could go either way.

    Rebels v Drua

Carter Gordon and the whole pack were the standouts. Need better ball retention and fewer unnecessary offloads in close contact. Just too much spilt ball in great attacking positions in the first half. Filipo was good in parts but his handling is still awful and he missed some fairly easy...

    Rebels v Drua

Definitely some very good players in the Rebels but little discernible structure in the team and toò many high risk plays. Overdoing the cross kick and way too much offloading in close contact. Coaching really looks to be the main issue to me.

    Rebels v Drua

Murphy is the living illustration of why the TMO is essential in Rugby, at least for games he officiates if no other.

Rd 7: Auckland Blues vs Western Force, Fri, April 5 2024

You'd have to admit that the Force have again been dudded by the draw. Last week in Fiji in appalling conditions and this week in Auckland at Eden Park where even the other NZ sides struggle for a win. Did they (the Force) stay over the week in Auckland or somewhere close? I would hope they...

    Waratahs 2024

My understanding is that Alatini was originally a Wagga boy, and therefore has returned to his natural base at the Brumbies.

    Round 7: Brumbies v Waratahs, Sat 6th 7.35PM AEDT @ GIO Stadium

Not sure I prefer Hooper at 7 to Brown, but given Jahrome isn't on the bench was he injured last game? Still, maybe it's a selection in line with the more intense approach to the breakdown adopted by the Brumbies this year?

    Waratahs 2024

De Luitis and Alatini are THPs. They are not really substitutes for Barratt who plays on the LH side.

    Wallabies 2024

The bench must contain 3 players who are proficient to cover the 3 front row spots. Who out of Arnold, Gamble and Swinton d7o you see playing LHP. Actually, I probably wouldn't mind seeing Swinton play half a game there but it might be the last we'll ever see him on a rugby ground.

Australian Super Rugby Team of the Week 2024

Tricky probably because so many are Wallaby ineligible, JTA and Ravi at the Reds, Kautai at the Brumbies and Medrano at the Force. Not many left to choose from.

    Wallabies 2024

Right now, I'd have 11 Kellaway, 14 Petaia, 15 Wright. Toole is the other strong contender right now if Nawaqanitawase is ignored as he's leaving. I wonder, though, if there's a lot of difference between Nawaqanitawase and Petaia who is (apparently strongly) rumoured to be off o/s at the end of...
