    NZ Domestic Rugby 2021

The problem is his error rate is so high in tight games or games against quality teams that it negates his positive impacts. Who took the lineout steal over the back that lead to Akira's try? Finlay Christie. For all Ruru's good he didn't close it out when needed - his error rate is way too...

    NZ Domestic Rugby 2021

Watch who missed the tackle on Jacobson at the end? Ruru - he's supposed to be sweeping in behind the defensive line (and he is) and he just watches Jacobson run right past him without getting a hand on him. When the Blues had a roll on at one point who threw the ball 2 metres forward from the...

World Rugby released a new framework earlier this month (effective immediately) regarding head contact that allows for more common sense. https://www.world.rugby/the-game/laws/guidelines/17

    Crusaders v Blues a.k.a. NZ's festum odii

Completely agree with Robinson starting and one of Akira/Sotutu on the bench. Papalii back would help too of course. I'm not sold on Josh Goodhue. He is never any better than just passable.

    Crusaders v Blues a.k.a. NZ's festum odii

TJ is unlistenable when commentating the Crusaders. He non stop wanks on and on about the Crusaders to a ridiculous degree. Crusaders far too good. Can't believe coaches thought Ruru is a good enough 9 to beat the Crusaders. Seriously? Akira's worst game in 12 months whilst Blackadder shone...

Yeah one of the Chiefs' big problems is they don't have a proven quality 10 to turn to. Trask looks much more comfortable at 15 (he played 15 for Bay of Plenty) as does DMac. Gatland isn't a proven quality 10 - more of a backup at Super level. But yeah i'm pleased to see Trask given an...

I agree Dan54, some weird selections going on with the Canes - at the very least Flanders and PUJ should be starting. Here are the Chiefs Chiefs: Damian McKenzie, Jonah Lowe, Anton Lienert-Brown, Quinn Tupaea, Etene Nanai-Seturo, Kaleb Trask, Brad Weber (cc), Luke Jacobson, Sam Cane (cc)...

It also wasn't a great look that Sam Cane had to use a captain's challenge - it was so blindingly obvious that it required a TMO look.

Yeah it's going to be fascinating. Last year Crusaders targeted Telea - bombarding him with high balls which he really struggled with. I would imagine something similar this week. Blues locks are going to have to really step up. Whitelock and Barrett provide so much power in the scrum and...

    NZ Domestic Rugby 2021

I'll give it a crack. It's worth noting that like the AU comp - the Aotearoa comp has two standout teams well above the rest (Crusaders and Blues) so they will make up most of the team - arguably the gap between the Crusaders/Blues and the rest of NZ is even bigger than the gap between the...

The rule is not about the ball itself - it's about if you throw it forwards Leon put it perfectly Leon MacDonald explained the crux of the issue as he saw it. “When you’re running full speed like Aki was and you let rip, the ball is always going to travel forward. That’s just physics. I did...

Agreed on Plummer. He was very good. One positive he has over Faiane is bulk - he's much bigger. The TMO was the same guy who blundered last night as TMO in Crusaders v Chiefs game. Paul Williams. Talk about a shocking weekend for him.

That was a brilliant watch. Darry was wonderful on debut. Poor Rieko got dudded a magnificent try. The Blues starting loose forward trio was sensational.
