The Wicks played hospitable hosts to Gordon everywhere but on the field. Fourths had Mr McKay playing a blinder in his 150th game. The team lifted under his leadership to take a good 32-5 win. Gordons number 8 played well and deserves a mention. Thirds had a good hard tussel with two very well...

    Shute Shield 2015

Split grounds again for the wicks grade with thirds and fourths at the top field. Fourths their own enemies in a very tight affair up until 20 to go. Norths wanted it more -30-10. Thirds was an excellent game to watch, with the 4 and 5 for wicks having good games but the team took some poor...

    Galloping Greens

Fourth grade ran over the top of a spirited SD side who had a stand out second rower. The steady hand of the wicks 10 is much needed in this team. 31-12 Thirds was another tough affair with some heated conversations late in the game as the wicks pulled away. The Wicks thirds are a good side...

I agree coach. Third grade should be at Coogee and if Colts twos are there then they should be first on 9.30?. I commend the idea of the whole of Club approach but the heart of a club comes from the lower grades who play year in and year out without an likely hood of a professional contract...

Speaking to players not long after the match on Saturday a unanimous point was that Manly was the most physical team they have played this year. Given that Manly got away to a very quick start, the team did well to hold for most of the game. Definite improvement and not that far off the top gun...

    Shute Shield 2015

Fourths a tight affair with Manly leading against the play for much of the match. Finally the Wicks got ahead to take the win.12-10 Thirds score line not indicative of a very close game for two thirds of the match with an avalanche at the end. Benny and Bennet were standouts 41-15 Seconds kept...

I would suggest that the physicality comes with the extra year in growth

5th grade- Gentlemen from several decades playing a good spirited match with Easts who took the win on the back of good defence. 4th grade- Though Wicks got the win they tried desperately to lose in the last twenty. Easts had a special 15 with speed and slice. 3rds - A good win by Easts against...

    Shute Shield BBQs and Canteens

Last week we enjoyed a bacon and egg roll on arrival at Penrith follwed by sausage sandwich and ONION at morning break with a famous emu burger for lunch - Penrith will take some beating. This week saw such a loooong que at coogee , I gave up. Long live the volunteers

    Shute Shield 2015

Pretty sure Easts won third grade 27 - 7 showing a very organised attack and defence. Easts 5 was very good and their winger had blistering speed. first grade had easts struggling with the wicks speed and high tempo game.

Wicks on an economy drive - NO ONION

Figg brought some good energy when he came on. The blooding of young guns continued with the young prop as well as the winger as reserves. Depth building nicely for the Wicks but a coaches headache as to where to put them all.

    Shute Shield 2015

A pleasure to see Parramatta at Latham and Coogee on Saturday. Their field discipline in the games that I watched was first class. Each time a decision went against them they got on with the job instead of grumbling to the middleman. I particularly liked the 4ths number 15 who has very good...

    Shute Shield 2015

Parra had a center built like a fridge during the trials and very hard to bring down-- wonder if he is playing tomorrow- will cause significant damage if he is

Funny game to watch as I think the rats took wicks a bit lightly early on. Thought Munroe had a much improved game this week. Halfback was good again. Seconds a torrid affair not helped by the scoreboard that influenced decisions in the last few minutes. Rats very tough as both teams went at...

Wicks building depth. There are some very good players in reserve and threes who would not look out of place higher up. Beatle had another good game in threes. In twos Bennett good as usual. Harris strong in the hit up. Thought the 9 did very well in cover defence, Good to see Connor back. Still...
