RWC 2011 SF2: Australia vs. New Zealand

The Wallabies showed brief periods of adequacy. New Zealand had an off night with the boot, but were pretty awesome in all other aspects. Congratulations to them.

3-2-1 Wallabies best on ground (RWC semi final)

    3. Ioane (droped ball not withstanding) 2. JOC (James O'Connor) 1. Samo minus heaps - COOPER - I didn't expect much from him, but kicking out on the full from the kickoff pretty much sums it up for me.

RWC 2011 SF2: Australia vs. New Zealand

I'm feeling more optimistic than I expected to, even though I have no good reason to be. We have loads of issues, but after the SA match I feel that the ABs aren't perfect and we seem to have worked out how to jag a match.

    Congrats Aussies!

You are a gentleman Paarl, and very gracious in defeat. I'm not sure I would be quite so magnanimous were the situation reversed. I hope WP give you some CC joy.

    RWC 2011 - Quarter final 3 : Springbokke v. Wallabies CLOSED

It seems pretty clear they do not read anything on here (surely they'd have topped themselves by now if they did).

    RWC 2011 - Quarter final 3 : Springbokke v. Wallabies CLOSED

I'll take the win any day. Huge defensive effort from the boys. Pocock was awesome - but we can't whinge about the All Blacks any more as he pulled all the shit McCaw does, and the Wallabies have learnt how to disrupt opposition ball the All Black way too. We can't complain about Bryce...

    RWC 2011 QF1: Ireland v Wales (W Pool C v RU Pool D)

Great game. Both teams were excellent. What a shame one of them had to go.

    RWC 2011 - Quarter final 3 : Springbokke v. Wallabies CLOSED

If we pick our best team, and all injured players come back in great form, and the South Africans decide not to play their best team, and the weather is fine, and we use our bench effectively, and they don't, we'll have a good chance.

    Ewen McKenzie Q & A - Top 10 Questions

How did you turn the Reds around from cellar dwellers to Super Champions? In the course of your job, do you have occassion to speak with Robbie Deans? Do you ever have any idea what the fuck he is on about? Who were your best (either playing or drinking) team mates? Who were your best...

RWC 2011 - Bitch, moan and discuss - Referees and Law Discussions

I am sick of seeing high tackles go unnoticed. This has sometimes happened in 'general' play (eg see NZ-France game Nonu on Rougerie), and often when a player is in the act of scoring a try. Where in the Laws does it say 'it is OK to take someone's head off if he is in the act of scoring a try?'...

    RWC - New Zealand v France - 24th September

The ABs were very good and rightful winners. The French had their moments of brilliance and disaster. There were a ridiculous number of high tackles (and tackles in the air) missed. New Zealand were very lucky in this regard. As a general aside, I hate it that the high tackle laws are not...

    RWC - Wallabies v Ireland - 17th September 2011

DOH! To be honest, the IRB rankings mean nothing to me (I think the system is flawed) and it is particularly irrelevant during a World Cup. I only mentioned the ranking as a subtle dig at those who have repeatedly excused Wallaby fuck ups by pointing at the 'ranking'.

    RWC - Wallabies v Ireland - 17th September 2011

I've done it! I've read the whole damn thread! (including the tit for tat 'your country has more dickheads than ours' section. For the record, we have more dickheads than NZ, but proportionally less :fishing). The Irish played well, including playing to the whistle (or should I say the tone...

Wallabies at the Rugby World Cup 2011

Who should be the Wallaby RWC backup 7? Do you mean from the squad as selected? We could just play an 'Australian 6' and a 'South African 7' as that is all we've got. Or do you mean "who should be there but isn't?" At this stage I'd take any specialist 7 over none at all.

    Deans' warning to Wallabies

'positions are now on the line' really shits me - positions should always be on the line.

    Waratahs 2012

Any news on the coach for 2012?

    Wallabies world cup squad selection

Even if they aren't 1st XV any more (although I'm sometimes not so sure), I'd like to see players like Waugh, Baxter and Mortlock in the squad. I know it is very unlikely, but I really think they have a lot to offer including (but not only) leadership, experience and mongrel.
