    Wallabies 2020

Good point. In some respects having JOC (James O'Connor) at 10 but playing him as the second fullback as the Reds do solves another selection problem on the wings. It allows you to play two non-kicking wingers in Koroibete and Daugunu with more confidence which I think would give us some more attacking grunt.

Rugby Championship in an Aussie bubble?

Looks like an agreement has been reached. https://australia.rugby/news/2020/09/15/ra-new-zealand-thanks?fbclid=IwAR1PRLwVK0zl9Lk34UaJmwDReDjUEiJDpfglS53vDIvC1-e14-6pnAEBst8 Concessions made include a 4 day quarantine before full training can commence plus the game is now on Sunday 11th. Clarke...

Rugby Championship in an Aussie bubble?

I'm not so sure the changes are unacceptable. Under previous restrictions if the Wallabies left the day after the SRAu final they would have 5 days as a full squad to prepare for the first test (source: The Australian). Clearly unacceptable. Under the new proposal announced this morning they...

    NSW AAGPS 2020

Spot on. This is my experience as well.

    Wallabies 2020

The comments about JOC (James O'Connor) @ 10 were interesting to me because in the initial PONI squad he was nominated as a 12. Whilst there wasnt a lot of detail from Rennie, this superficially seems to be a shift in attitude towards JOC (James O'Connor)'s positioning without reading too much into it. If true I like it as I...

    NSW AAGPS 2020

Yep you're right about SG Ball on Saturday, my mistake. Either way summer sport is pretty manageable if you choose the right one. As long as you're not doing cricket or 1sts rowing you're generally finished by 9-10am. My son played 9ths basketball one year then did a school-led S&C program...

    NSW AAGPS 2020

Probably because SG Ball Starts in February, finishes in April and is played on a Sunday so it doesn't clash with GPS Rugby.

    NSW AAGPS 2020

I dont think your post or comments were insulting at all but I do think you are possibly misunderstanding the purpose of GPS Rugby, as seen by this comment in your original post: The AAPGS Code guiding sport ("games") signed by all headmasters includes the following excerpt: "Games in our...

    Wallabies 2020

Good post, makes some sense. I too think Hanigan played well this year.

    Wallabies 2020

Yep, that was a big surprise. That and Hanigan's inclusion. I can't see Hanigan playing lock over LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto), Phillip or Simmons (or Hosea) and I can't see him playing 6 either over others chosen. He isn't exactly a development player thus I would much rather have seen Blyth in the squad (unless...

    Wallabies 2020

Yep, he definitely looks fitter. Nick Bishop did a feature on him in The Roar in late 2018 and wrote that while he was taking some 2-ball, Saracens were primarily using him as a lifter not a jumper.

Rugby Championship in an Aussie bubble?

New Zealand Herald reporting the rugby championship will be played in NSW to be announced later today: https://www.nzherald.co.nz/rugby/news/article.cfm?c_id=80&objectid=12364020 Plus dates confirmed for two Bledisloe games in NZ in October.

    Wallabies 2020

I agree 100%. As good as McMahon is I am pretty excited to see a couple of the younger guys (Wright/Wilson/McReight) or Samu get a decent crack in the backrow along with Hooper & Naisarani. I would like to see Kerevi as a point of difference at 12 as the options seem to be shaping up as...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Yep. The challenge will be to elevate the respective club competitions in terms of quality and exposure. The national club championship will potentially help with the latter. On a coaching pathway note it is good to see Darren Coleman (ex-Warringah, current Gordon coach) pick up a US MLR...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I thought that NRC was now off the table. When Rob Clarke tabled the broadcast package it did not include the NRC so some have assumed it has died a quiet death.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Does anyone know if there would be anything stopping Australia having a 6 team comp next year from the perspective that there would be no bye thus players could potentially play 10-12 consecutive games? I dont think there would be however with the old Super Rugby format teams would barely play...

    Wallabies 2020

I hear you but as much as Id love to see a lot more more kids come through the club programs, there is an extent to which we should be thanking the "posh schools". They identify talented athletes, provide them with elite coaches (Scots has an ex-Engalnd assistant coach), give them professional...

    Wallabies 2020

I'm not sure the age comment is 100% correct. You cannot register an NRL contract with a player until they are 17 and they cannot play NRL until 18. A younger player can get a "Junior Development Contract" to play SG Ball with a club however that contract does not stop them playing any other...
