    Rebels v Waratahs, rd15 SR2013

I went away from that game stunned. I had just watched my team play 80 minutes of slug it out gritty rugby. Who were these defensive madmen and what did they do to the rebels team of old that attacked with flair but leaked like a sieve? The defensive play and sheer drive was from a...

    Rugby TV Shows

I don't know what his KPIs are or were but I imagine he has met a few of them, 3n win, world ranking improve on the back of a pretty empty tank, historic wins vs SA, 3rd in RWC and positioned as genuine 2nd best team going in, performance wise i'd say second equal with Boks, a pretty damn good...

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

On Palu, the thing I like about him other than his stellar workrate is that he can be counted on to make ground and is very very handy with offloads.

    Rebels 2014

Betham is still pretty green at Super Rugby level, it could have gone either way, but like Volavola a good pick up for the Tahs and real potential. I'm pretty happy with our backs, I had serious misgivings with Sidey but he really stepped up last week, gave first receiver options, tackled like a...

    Rebels 2014

I thought Sidey played well last week, some very solid defense and good carries over the gainline to relieve pressure.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Heres that link Rassie, ot, but hey, http://www.rugbydump.com/2006/09/23/brian-lima-bone-crunching-tackle-on-derick-hougaard

I remember Lima, what a player.

    Michael Cheika

I think Chieka has a real PR problem. I mean he talks straight, makes sense, shows some emotion, even some passion. Chrissakes. What do media or forum flunkies get to whinge about?? What do the flunkies get to bicker about endlessly repeating their view for?? Selfish bastard, he'll never...

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

FP we don't have any big centres, at least not until CFS or Inman make the grade. And a cynic would riposte aussie running rugby is your midget flyhalf come centre crabbing up and down the line looking for a gap and having your whole team slowly advance to the rear while samoans angry for being...

    REBELS v STORMERS RD 14

Really enjoyed that win after coming so close last year against them in SA. We've all had times we believed we got the short end of the stick but hey thats rugby. I did think JDV was being a bit ungracious laying on the embarrassment spiel so thickly. I imagine some of it was his decision...

A make over for Quade Cooper

Had Muttonbird, had. I don't imagine either of them want to reignite that little spat.

    Wallabies Watch

Quade 51 tackles, 19 missed, 31 turnovers, 45 metres run per 80 mins played, 31 offloads, JOC (James O'Connor) 46 tackles, 4 missed, 10 turnovers 69 metres per 80 mins played, 14 offloads. Even on try assists, can't recall tries but pretty sure Quade has more, the main try scorers for Rebels have been Higgers...

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

Yes, it all smells ominously like a death spiral of playing into the cludgy grind we hate. We don't have to dominate lineouts or scrums, but it's vital we hold our own when there, and that we stretch the defense as well. I'm all for earning the right to go wide, but I expect us to be seizing...

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

For sure, but its a very bad day when you're losing both. Tries tend to come from lineouts, and you only have to think back to the quarterfinal RWC vs SA to recall what a bad day lineouts can make. Matfield was lethal.

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

I hope Scott Allen is wrong about Timani and the five man lineouts, the prospect of losing lineouts due to predictability is even less savoury than losing scrums given how many lineouts we will be seeing. Don't think he is though.

Interesting Trivia as at R14 of the Super Rugby (Metreage)

Some Trivia about Metreage by Super Rugby players as we close in on the finals; Digby Ioane is the best winger in Super Rugby when it comes to metres gained, averaging 122metres per game. Folau has averaged 105m, Dagg 106m, and Poki 107m. More metreage trivia. Winger Rocket Davies has...

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

Short of replacing Pulver Gnostic, i think you will be doomed to a frustrating time as a rugby fanatic, unless by sheer fleeting chance a coach happens upon your personal selection preferences and then executes games to your gameplan preferences, as historically very few coaches are completely...

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

So, if we do win the series with O'Connor at ten do we get to ridicule the naysayers? No, because it is a team sport for the most part, and even Quade can't win us - or lose us - the series. I think the points made about how everyone looks for Quades errors is true, almost inevitable...

A make over for Quade Cooper

Quade may have had the odd off field issue, but the impression I get is that he is great with fans and as I recall he was in NZ too during the RWC, it is his biggest saving grace since the yellow jersey affair. Meeting players in person adds a new dimension for fans, especially kids, and guys...
