    QLD Colts 2023

well the time has come to see who is playing where and what they look like after getting out of school.

Agree QLD has seen far too much talent (players and coaches) leave the operation. If we could work out a way to keep them all the FRANCHISE would be world beaters.

That mob probably took out the monthly profit of the poor joint. Hope they drank a heap of beers to even the ledger.

I am tipping that Hamish Stewart will play the house down. from all accounts he left with some "shit on the liver" at the Reds.

I guess it depends on whether there is any thought about getting some value for the money he is being paid. If he can put bums on seats it is worth while but with a crowd of circa 8000 in Townsville there has to be questions asked of the entire marketing program. Not sure who is paying him at...

    Super Rugby 2023 Rd 1 - Reds v Hurricanes

Most people have a strength in a niche. Take Allan Jones for example was a phenomenal coach but not an exceptional player. I fear we are sliding down a slippery slope when we use either of 1. Past performance in a different field or 2. Genetic connection as a selection criteria for an...

not oy money -- my mail is there is some "personality" issues that also helped some of those players make their decisions.

that shows a one track mentality though. He has stuck with a core group and failed to develop the wider group. The bloke to model on is Wayne Bennett he always has a bunch of "new" up and comers in the wings.

John Downes at GPS was held highly for a while in Junior programs.

The bigger question I have is why do we seem to lose so many between 17/18 and 22/23 years of age? Each year Brisbane schools turn out about 80 front rowers (props) from 1st XV programs (GPS and AIC). Plus the others from 3rds, 4ths 5ths etc and other school programs I reckon there could be...

    Reds 2023

Saipele Tamilo at souths is finally growing into his body and learning the craft from George Francis will only improve him. Ward, Booker and Wiggins from UQ all have the right sort of body shape that can be developed. All played in Junior Reds program and Wiggins now in Junior wallaby squad...

agree we seem to have dropped the ball on keeping and developing some serious front rowers. Not sure Blake is the answer but there are a few good youngsters in colts the past couple of years that would be worth investing in.

TBH I think he has his best impact with the younger guys so i would offer him the role to run the Under 20 and Under 18 academy teams. Try to build some stability in those areas and feed in a heap of well skilled players to QPR so if and when needed at Reds Senior level they are primed and ready...
