    Rugby News from unexpected places

i think as you say it is an NHL or NFL decision as i believe the governing bodies own the images/brands for the sports teams. the clubs can sell advertising at the stadium etc, but the actual brand 'Montreal CAnadians' is a registered trademark of the NHL.

    Rugby News from unexpected places

more corporate money in the U.S to sponsor things like that. it's a huge market and it costs a fair penny to sponsor a stadium, and more corporates over there have that kind of money. gillette is an NFL stadium - huge exposure

    Rugby News from unexpected places

yup Dick's Sporting Goods park in denver. has hosted churchill cup matches in the past when that was going. rugby usa is based out of denver, so yes its quite popular. however, they've had games there at the official 'rugby stadium' and they fill it - however i think its about 5,000 - so not...

    Rugby News from unexpected places

boston doesn't have an appropriate stadium. the new england revolution play out of gillette stadium a 70,000 person nfl stadium. i think the primary choices for rugby matches are rio tinto stadium (home of real salt lake) in salt lake where rugby is very popular (due to huge islander population...

    Brumbies v Rebels RD17

hilgendorf was also horrible telegraphed everything he did. but then again he hasn't been playing super level all year will be great to get a rest and have a better team out there for the lions match.

Rebels v Lions - Tuesday 25 June, AAMI Park

rebels will obviously play against the lions b team as the lions have a test a few days later. however, lions will still be set piece strong and i think the rebels would be wise to steer clear of scrums. i suspect we'll go with henderson ged weeks pyle (hopefully fit) neville jones (assuming...

    Other June Tests 2013

Ireland beat USA 15 - 12 in Houston in front of 21,000 at BBVA Compass Stadium (a great stadium in downtown Houston that houses the Dynamo of the MLS). sounds like the US had a few good chances to win it, but a yellow card to todd clever didn't help. ireland sounding primed for Canada to get a...

    Other June Tests 2013

and yes. as above we have all but won the PNC (Pacific Nations Cup) in our first year which is great news. quick turnaround for the Japan game after the Ireland game, but we should win that and go undefeated. our 7s success and the Canadian Rugby Championships, America's Rugby Championship are having a big impact...

    Other June Tests 2013

    The Pulverisation of Australian Rugby

Do you even think that was necessary? I think 7 is excessive and u can see depth now building with both the force and rebels uncovering some new talent. I agree that maybe an extra 2 was required.

Canada defeated Fiji for the first time since 1995 in Ottawa on wednesday night, 20-18. Canada now leads the Pacific Nations Cup and faces Tonga in Kingston, Ontario on Saturday. Canada is giving a lot of players a run which is great to see. A week after Tonga is Ireland at BMO Stadium in...

    Brumbies v Rebels RD17

i don't think you need sweat as much as some other teams you guys still have white, To'omua, rathbone?, mccabe/coleman, kiridrani, speight and mogg in your backline.... not the worst outcome. and sio up front to step in for alexander. and fotu at 8 for mowen i think the brumbies will take this...

    Rebels 2014

i think beale is clearly a lock to go back to the tahs. if folau leaves, i'd say the tahs will sign him but depending on graham, i think there is also scope for him to go to the reds. keep in mind they have lost 1 big salary in diggers and possibly a few schloons out of morahan. further, they...

    Rebels 2013

happy with that...not much difference between ours and i can't see hill doing much else. our backline is probably better this week with JOC (James O'Connor) and phipps gone. it's a blessing - not really disguised either.

    Rebels 2014

i don't know much about kingston, but if he is a prospect at 13, i would be more than happy to trial Inman at 12 as a Jamie Roberts esque centre with either kingston or English outside him. either way, genuinely excited about tonight and next year. the recruiting at the club is looking excellent...
