    National Rugby Championship 2014

DB and many others concerned about what may or may happen to player movement, your fears are valid but probably overstated. Players will get a run at the higher level if their good enough. Not because of their Club. If players want to move somewhere to get in a queue then they're just stupid. If...

    MONARO COMPETITION

Thanks Sam. Bad news though if it is condensed. Hardly fair on whoever cops it.

    MONARO COMPETITION

Monaro to win Provincial and Red Devils to win Monaro. No analysis just from the heart. Also any idea on where the Provincial tournament will be this year?

I reckon this is on the money. Why get involved now when the ARU and NSW Government is about to hand you the best facilities in town. Once they're built, the recruitment potential, resource access and financial potential will have them sitting very nicely as the next team to join the competition...

Yes we are on a crusade to spread the word but if you turn up to the walls of the citidel wth little more than a sharp butter knife you won't make much headway. The commercial reality of Rugby's niche status has been ignored for too long. Pursue idealism by all means. But do it AFTER there is...

This is where I think 3T will be great for Club rugby. Uni Supes won't be back for finals, evening out the field so Clubs will succeed on their Club stars. Yes Uni still has advantages but as all Clubs will be able to offer a pathway through JV's etc means players don't have to go to Uni to be...

Ditto. Paricularly with the joint ventures I can see clubs reaping the benefit of offering a "representative" side for their players to aim for. I think the competition for spots and the kudos for developing the "rep" players will drive Clubs to develop structures and programs that will create a...

Answering your first question, Yep. If someone doesn't organise your birthday party for you do you just not have a party. Should the ARU have organised something.....probably. Did they.....no. So rather than wait for someone to do something the Clubs could have organised to restructure...

A stoned sloth on valium would look hasty compared to the inaction of Australian Rugby administration. From the way I read it the ARU are facilitating a competition but asking the Clubs to sort out everything else. Isn't that getting the Clubs to work it out? I'm not trying to be rude so I...

    Sydney Subbies 2014

The down side of 10 team comps is the season is too long to work aroun public holidays. NUmbers maybe one problem but the hangovers are going to be the real test. The move to 8 team comps in 2015 will allow the competition to factor in the public holdiays better. The Koola redevelopment has...

I can see one glaring problem with Thursday nights. Most rugby fans are rugby players - or involved in some way. Most clubs train on a Thursday night. Bums on seats and people watching the tele could be problematic. Just thought someone should look at what actually happens in Clubland.

Without making any outrageous assumptions, I doubt any of us would live so long. I think the crowds will come regardless. Forget the fans who pay the cash for rubber chicken, judging by this and many other threads, there are significant numbers willing to pay to see uni get smashed. I could...

Both good reasons against Uni. That's part of the assessment process I guess. The ground could be a movable feast at this point and as someone said earlier, Fox would probably make the call, anyway. As for support, I believe there are enough savvy people at Uni to figure out how to get crowds in...

Uni has earned the right to stand alone. And from most regular season results, without the Super players flooding the finals, they won't control the SS like previous years. The way people are talking about the 3T affecting specific Clubs, sounds like amateur hour. Trying to elevate "district...

The one thing FOX is good at is making money. If they figured there was no chance to turn a profit, they wouldn't be in it. There's a lot the ARU should be doing but if they leave a lot of the early heavy lifting to FOX then I'm more confident of success. I'm probably guilty of heavy...

I believe the translation is hope, pray and assume FOX will do everything for them. Looks like the "Build it and they will come" is at the heart of ARU strategic management. As for all those people wanting it on FTA - give it up. They won't pay until they know how much it's worth. You need to...

Because Gordon's only just recovering and unlike UNSW, Lindfield has no money or facilities.
