Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 17th August 2024 Perth

Four quick thoughts Handling rubbish, conditions somewhat to blame but still needs to be better Kicking game was pathetic Lineout was dreadful So often the player with the ball looked like he just didn't know what to do

Cheika was a strange bloke, but if you look at his overall record there are very few more successful coaches in world rugby. However, he is certainly polarising, particularly on this site.

How are you going to pay for it? It's sounds great, but you need income to do it, and the top level is the only way to generate income.

100% agree with that team FP, except that Williams is unavailable, so I would have Canham come onto the bench

Half, what your friend says is right, the first ingredient rugby needs is success. All the talk of grass roots, domestic comps, pathways etc is all good, but all require money, and that comes from success at the top level. Success by the Wallabies and by the Super rugby sides, particularly the...

    Wallabies 2024

A pack I'll call 'the unavailables' of Bell, Porecki, TT, Frost, Williams, Wright, McReight and Gleeson would pants whatever pack we put together for this weekend. In fact, I reckon only Valetini for Gleeson would be the only available player to make that pack.

    G&GR POTY 2024 - Wallabies v Springboks 1 (Brisbane)

    3. Valetini 2. Frost 3. Ikitau (not a huge game by Len, in the end I was just looking for someone who did nothing wrong!)

    Wallabies 2024

Don't know enough about Meredith BR, but certainly agree with you re Jack D, huge boot, big body. Another we've missed, through no-one's fault, is Will Harrison, who basically spent probably the two most important seasons for his development injured. Obviously I don't know whether he was going...

    Wallabies 2024

BR, I think to be fair he only dropped one (which yes, was poor) the other one he was blamed for by the commentators, when we saw the replay, was actually passed to a point on the ground about two metres in front of him.

Basically agree with you about 9 BR, the only issue I have with Tate is his passing can be pretty ropey, it's no advantage getting quicker ball to the 10 if it goes behind him. I would also have Lonergan as our run-on 9, but I don't think that's going to happen. Not sure about 10, probably stick...

Why are you here @Members Section?

Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 10th August 2.30pm AEST @ Suncorp,

I can't see how any one or two changes are going to make a huge difference, but it's also hard to see where any more changes than that would come from. Bell and TT into the front row would be a start, but need a bit more from our locks as well. McReight and Wright are turning out to be pretty...

Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 10th August 2.30pm AEST @ Suncorp,

That was pretty bloody awful, I don't know if any Wallaby can hold their head up after that, perhaps Valetini, but that would be it. The ill discipline and basic schoolboy errors made me think I was watching the Tahs. I'm not sure what we do next week, we are just so far behind the Boks in just...

Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 10th August 2.30pm AEST @ Suncorp,

Getting smashed in the scrum, kicking game is poor and didcipline is woeful. The result is posession and territory to the Boks, that can only lead to points. Kellaway a bit unlucky there, he lifted but hadn't tipped him up, it was only when Le Roux and Wright entered the tackle that tipped him...

    Waratahs 2025

If we thought last year was bad, 2025 could be a whole new level. With only Holtz and Botha at THP, neither of who have really established themselves as being at Super Rugby level yet (at least they're both young), One lock in Amatosero, a 21 year-old who is also at that level, and two veteran...

    Wallabies v Georgia 20 July - Allianz Stadium 3.45PM

The rule is pretty simple, if you don't like the player (Wright, White, Paisami, whoever) the play is rubbish, if you do like him the coach told him to do it! ;)

Good call Sully. The rule here is everyone agrees with you or they're a dropkick. Interesting take on a public forum

Wallabies v Wales Game 2 Sat 13 July Melbourne

I thought that was a small step back from last week as a team, despite some excelent individual perfomances. It goes without saying the maul defence was diabolical, we will have a real target on our back from every other team there unless we can rectify it quickly, and the set piece took a big...
