Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 17th August 2024 Perth

The All blacks didn't feed a single scrum in their match on the weekend. I think I read the first scrum in the entire match was after the 60th minute. Let's just do that. Easy

    Wallabies 2024

I don' think it is, and we have plenty of examples in Australian rugby to demonstrate it.

Has McReight ever done that at test level against the big boys? The rap on him was always that he can be taken out of breakdown play by targetting him as a tackler, and he doesnt make dominant tackles to compensate. I don't think he has ever performed to the heights he'd aspire to against the...

    Wallabies 2024

It will be a better performance this week, Schmidt will have a week to analyse the Boks play, especially what their new 10 does (if he plays!), and how they used their big forwards in attack. Suspect we will see LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) performing a tighter closer role in the defensive line. In attack? Who knows...

Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 10th August 2.30pm AEST @ Suncorp,

I think you are probably talking about the scrums at 33:00 (AAA penalised for "popping") and then 34:14. Marx does stand up in the second scrum as it disintegrated, but the Wallabies have already given up advantage (we never find out what for, but I imagine it because our pack is facing the...

Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 10th August 2.30pm AEST @ Suncorp,

I said it in another thread, but on the rewatch this morning, Tate did not pass it to Lynagh once in South Africa's half over the last 20 mins

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Probably to be expected for an afternoon game, on a secondary channel while the Olympics is on, but the Aus v SA game at Suncorp didn't make the top 30 programs on FTA TV last night. Average rating was 204k They also had the lowest rating game of AFL for the year on Sat night

    Wallabies 2024

I rewatched the last 20 mins of the game on Stans spidercam this morning. I actually think McDermott had a pretty poor game including at least three poor passes that resulted in knock-ons, as well as those poor decisions around the blindside while we had the 13v15. I may have missed one or...

Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 10th August 2.30pm AEST @ Suncorp,

The Boks are also extremely well coached at the moment. In defense we play our 10 in the back three and have the 9 as sweeper. They were sending a big body at Hunter first up, getting over the ad line and taking him out of the d-line. Now we only have Ikitau as an "inside back defender". SA...

Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 10th August 2.30pm AEST @ Suncorp,

I don't think they are really unforced. A lot of this just comes from fatigue and trying to create something with backfoot ball

Nah. Frost was calling. He tells AAA. AAA is at the front of the lineout, AAA tells the hooker.

Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 10th August 2.30pm AEST @ Suncorp,

The stats don't capture the 5 scrum penalty advantages that were conceded on their scrum, or the lineout ball we subsequently lost at the maul after catching the ball

Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 10th August 2.30pm AEST @ Suncorp,

So you can obviously lift someone in the lineout. As soon as they pass it the lineout is over. But it's also legal to lift someone in open play too. Given the refs reactions, I think South Africa had cleared it with him before the match. The most frustrating thing about this SA team is they...

Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 10th August 2.30pm AEST @ Suncorp,

Wilson actually had the match-high 7 lineout receptions this match. Mostly at the front. Good to see development there. There would be recent seasons where he didn't take 7 lineout a all year.

Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 10th August 2.30pm AEST @ Suncorp,

I actually can't believe how many posts are talking about 9&10 here after that game. Probably says something about what we care about in this country, and why we are where we are.

Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 10th August 2.30pm AEST @ Suncorp,

Trying to solve our problems caused by our forwards getting destroyed by rotating through yet another young 10 is indeed insane
