I think your'e missing the point. Yes, GPS is historically have been much better than the CAS. This is however changing, Barker, Waverley and Knox are all as good as these other schools now despite lack of tradition, and the fact they have fewer boys to choose from. The world is changing.

Joker, Need I remind you that just 3 years ago Barker beat Joeys. Supposedly the greatest rugby school in Australia. Or that CAS beat GPS just 3 years ago. I understand that you have been brainwashed to think that the GPS are elite and that CAS schools are for poor, uneducated people but that...

WLF, you cannot be more wrong about these 3 schools. Barker and Waverley for the last 3 years have been to the same standards of Riverview, Joeys, Newington, Scots and Kings. Furthermore, these two teams 16A's had more talent than any other school in their age group and Knox were unbelievably...

This is true for most schools, however, both the Knox 16's and Barker 16's age group is considerably stronger than the soon to be year 12's (with a few outliers of course). Furthermore, King's 16's age group this year was rather disappointing and I'm sure we will see the same from their 1sts...

This is a very good point, logistically would be almost impossible especially with the prevalence of boarders making up such a significant part of these teams, and their reliance on food and transport etc. 45 teams is crazy, St. Joseph's College is really doing something special with their footy...

This is a really good point, haven't thought of it like that before. It could very much make importing an already bigger issue than it already is. However, the "ear piece fiasco" is not at all true. There was no ear pieces, no contact from coaches to players, it was largely blown out of proportion.

I've actually never posed on a GPS forum before, I also was not intending to stir trouble, nor did I insult anyone. I'm sorry if you were offended by my comments, but nothing I said was with any malice intent.

Joker do you have anything constructive to say or not

Neither of those things are true Metre Eater, not at all trying to stir trouble. However, this has been a rumour circulating for quite a while. I believe the ARU actually approached both the GPS and CAS about this concept about 3 seasons ago but it was rejected by all of the GPS schools. I...

    NSW AAGPS 2020

I should have clarified. This would be a 1XV competition, the CAS are improving but not enough to compete at all levels just yet.

    NSW AAGPS 2020

Yes. I definitely should have clarified. This would be in the 1xv and possibly 2xv. Whilst CAS rugby is definitely improving, it's definitely not there yet to compete with the GPS across all levels

Look it's clear there is a stigma around CAS rugby, there is a belief that CAS rugby is a joke amongst GPS schools and I would know as I myself attended a GPS school. However, I have been involved in both and I can assure you, the rugby program at Barker and at Waverley trumps that of any GPS...

Evening. It is becoming increasingly evident that the the likes of Barker, Waverley and possibly even Knox are increasingly closing the gap and are now able to match it with the GPS schools (especially Waverley and Barker). Furthermore, Shore are descending further into the abyss and are...

If we know anything about Barker, it's that they have a great footy program and drill and condition their players extremely well. They don't acquire as much talent as perhaps a GPS school or Waverley, but they are able to make their kids quality rugby players (especially in the tight 5). So I...
