Waratahs Blues Sunday 24th March, SFS

Horne at 12 should be interesting. I mooted him playing there long ago but it's taken until now to eventuate. I expect him to be serviceable but not great. I dont think he has the passing game to be a great 12.

    Wallabies Watch

The Courier Mail is reporting the ARU have asked barnes to say in Australia until the end of the wallaby season and have implied he will start at 10 ahead of Cooper, Lealifano, Beale and JOC (James O'Connor). I think the worst part about losing to the lions will be that we're going to do it playing narrow, one...

    Waratahs 2013

The tahs should not need to bring established wallabies into the squad. There might be an argument for Beale, but to bring in guys like Tapuai etc is a step in the wrong direction. Take the money saved on Barnes, Palu et al. and spend it on developing talent from sydney.

Ewen McKenzie - Life after the Reds

You need a bloke who is both capable of success but also holds a passion for the job. Its the passion for the wallaby jersey and legacy that keeps you motivated when working on gameplans in the early hours of the morning or on the long flights home from the republic. Whether or not you have to...

Stormers vs Brumbies r6 @ Newlands

Prior was pretty good on the weekend, I think this move is tactical. I almost hope prior moves teams. I reckon he's the 3rd best scrummy in the country behind Genia and White.

Ewen McKenzie - Life after the Reds

Jake Whites obviously a great coach but I think it has to go to an Australian. If Mckenzie doesnt get the wallaby job he'll pick up something in europe. I imagine Ireland, France and Scotland might all have a chat to him.

    Reds vs Bulls - Rd6

Always my favourite game of the year! Wide, fast and hard is the only way to go against the bulls. If the reds win, it will be a great win. I expect a loss however.

    Lions Tour 2013

I'd take youngs over phillips at halfback any day of the week. Phillips is not quick enough to the ruck and his decision making is often poor. I'd have: Youngs Sexton North Roberts Tuilagi Bowe/Cuthbert/Maitland/Visser Halfpenny Maybe have BOD at 13 instead of Tuilagi, depending on form...

Waratahs vs Cheetahs Super Rugby-R5 2013

What I fail to understand is how established international players can put in such poor performances when in a sky blue jersey. And what a pathetic crowd. If things don't change the tahs are going to turn into the lions of super rugby. Big City = Shithouse team.

Brumbies vs Waratahs Super Rugby-R4 2013

I have to say I'm with qwerty on this one. I wouldn't pick folau for the lions but I think he will be a wallaby spring tourist if he sticks around. Give him 10 more games to iron the kinks out and he will start to produce the goods. The tahs looked directionless. It was very noticeable how much...

Reds v Force, Super Rugby Round 5, 2013

I reckon you're wrong on both counts. The force are nailing down a starting team, I expect more cohesion. Reds without genia are a different animal, and cooper is still getting back to his best. I reckon the result will be within 10 points for sure.

    Waratahs 2014

Phipps to the waratahs is the perfect storm of hate for me. I honestly reckon the bloke would be 3rd choice at the Brumbies or Reds. I'm still not quite over the fact he's a wallaby. Good luck to him but....

    Wallabies Watch

We dont really have a 6 that is quick enough to the breakdown to be an effective bench option over hooper/gill. Unless the wallabies play quirk on the bench, but you couldn't really justify selecting him for the lions tour just yet.

    Wallabies Watch

On the flipside, flankers that keep a low profile are often times more effective. Remember how unstopable pocock was circia 2009, when he was not as well known and therefore less targeted by the opposition. Likewise Hooper last year.

    Wallabies Watch

I can only see Folau getting a run on the wing. That means either Digby, JOC (James O'Connor), Mitchell, Beale or Cooper is going to miss out. He'll have to do some pretty extraordinary stuff to get a run.

    Rebels v Reds RD 4 2013

He might have already moved, hence his lack of gametime

    Wallabies Watch

I'd have the same starting team as you but with Pyle, Gill and Mitchell on the bench ahead of Dennis, Hooper and McCabe/Mogg. I think this season is the first in many that there is some real consensus among the rugby community regarding selections. Unless there are injuries or drastic changes...

    Waratahs 2013

But when these 'poor' recruits start producing the goods at super level you have to ask questions?
  20. Bowside

    Rebels v Reds RD 4 2013

It says something about the depth of the reds when every player on their bench would probably be in the rebels starting side. Doesn't mean anything once they run out of the field though. I expect this to be a close one. Hope melbourne can pull a good crowd. I know digby is always an attraction.
