    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

Your memory fails you Qwerty. In the first two tests in 2009 where the Boks won they kicked 11/17 = 65% compared to 9/11 for Jones kicking for the Lions = 82%. Lions won the third test but only kicked 5/8 in that one = 63% compared to the Boks 3/3 = 100%.

I agree that it's baffling but if Timani is going to start (and there's every indication that he will) then how do you see he should be deployed by the Wallabies? Tight or wide?

You do need one forward to play wide but that forward needs to be a bit faster and more mobile who can play like another back to work in with the backs rather than just catching it and trucking it up. That sort of one dimensional ball carry takes opportunities away from the backs. Deans may...

Stats only tell you part of the story and should not be relied on as the sole basis to reach a conclusion. The first into attacking rucks stat comes from Rugby Stats http://www.rugbystats.com.au/rugby/super15.html - it's not one I measure for Super Rugby. We know that the Tahs run wide of...

Gunner - I watched all his games in 2013 and he wasn't as good as he's been (in my opinion). Obviously I still though he did enough to warrant selection in the first Lions test but I was expecting more from him based on a really good 2012. The guy who stole most of those lineouts for Scotland...

Lions Threats And How The Wallabies Can Counter Them

I've just published the first in a five part series looking at the likely Lions team the Wallabies will face, the threats they will pose and how the Wallabies may counter those threats, To show you what I think the Wallabies can expect there's a video with each part. In part 1 I look at the...

No mate, remember we did a slow motion, zoomed in analysis of it at the time and concluded you missed him altogether :D

    Heineken Cup 2013

Bardon, not sure about the match reports - watch the second half - the first half was a classic battle but the second half was enthralling rugby - I really enjoyed it.

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

I think they'll finish game with two opensides on the field - Gill to 6 and Hooper on at 7 with Higgers to 8. Two possible ways to have more cover for Palu - 6-2 bench which is risky - MMM (or possibly Dennis) on the bench in place of Simmons as lock and backrow cover (think MMM could fill...

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

I reckon the first test team Deans selects will be: Robinson (Alexander) Moore (Fainga'a) Slipper (Kepu) Horwill but will wear #5 and captain Timani (Simmons) Higginbotham Gill (Hooper) Palu Genia (Burgess) JOC (James O'Connor) (Barnes) Ioane Horne (Lealiifano) AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) Cummins Folau

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

No, three recent examples: Mitch Chapman sat on bench in 2010 v Ireland but didn't get on so is uncapped. James Hanson sat on the bench v Samoa in 2011 but only got his first cap against All Blacks last year. Brendan McKibbin who was considering playing for Scotland but was on the Wallabies...

No, Gill has multiple caps for the Wallabies - as soon as you run on to the field (whether as a reserve or not you are capped).

White is uncapped and we know the only three uncapped players are Mowen, Lealiifano and Folau.
