    Southern Inland Rugby 2019

In a week where the focus turns to Rep Footy, it was remiss of me not to welcome SIRU Rep Coach Nick McCarthy to the forum recently, while this is clearly Nick's first (and at this stage only) posting on the forum, it feels like Nick has been a regular on the local scene for much longer than...

Significant injuries across 1st and 2nd Grade for the Bulls mate. I'd argue that fitness levels across the competition aren't where they need to be. From what I've seen, City and Ag College are the two fittest teams in the competition at this stage, which is possibly a reflection of the...

Hey Will, welcome aboard mate. I think the reason there is some discussion around this incident relates to there not being much information available, without knowing what the tackle looked like, it's hard to understand the suspension. Clearly there is no place for foul play in our game...

They don't exist, that's the rub. Referee's Association have been raising referee numbers as an issue with clubs, at SIRU AGM's, Board Level and Brumbies Level for at least 3 seasons. Falls on deaf ears. I agree fellas, the precedent is dangerous isn't it. I wonder if there's some value in...

The Perp paid the price Paul, the Patsy phree to play. For the record, he got 4 weeks.

Make that 19 weeks in suspensions.

Eventful is an understatement isn't it mate!! 3x RC, 3x citings and a total of 17 weeks in suspensions handed out, the judiciary definitely had their work cut out for themselves. Yep, the "Country" clubs get an additional home game against their "City" opponents, it's part of the additional...

Calm down folks, the process needs to be followed. Let the Judiciary do their thing.

Clearly his clothing has nothing to do with his qualifications. This is an interesting discussion in a season where referee numbers are down, with more CTA referees becoming part of the game and minimal qualified AR's being involved.

Is that Tim in the jeans and Leeton Phantoms Polo?

A couple of points here.. I think incidents such as this (I saw a similar situation in the Tahs v Ag match) show the importance of having badged AR's at all games. I believe the onus rests with the club to identify the player who was issued the card. Rightly or wrongly.

That's a good sign for the Blacks, not so good for Aggies!! I reckon that match will be a belter.

Griffith at home and with a few fresh faces will be hard to get past, however.... it looks like Chris Latu is sitting out this week, hopefully he's not injured. He's definitely a damaging ball runner who creates space around the opposition 5/8. I reckon Ben Brook will be breathing a sigh of...

Let's put that forfeit into perspective too... Hay played Tumut in 3rds on Saturday and took about 10 girls up to the hills also. But, the biggest wrap needs to go to the Hay prop who drove from Mildura to Tumut for a run. That's commitment. Surely it'd be easier to get a run in Adelaide? He...

Ag v City and Tumut v Leeton are two matches that will be important markers for the season. Travel will be an influence for the Blacks, hopefully they can come across with reasonable numbers. It's looking like it'll be a cool, clear, dry weekend for footy across the region tomorrow which...

Well done Blake, that's a cracking effort. Also a big ask for his employer to release him for that, that takes rugby people to support him also, well done to all. A handy footballer, from memory Liam has been either a past winner of the Bill Castle Medal, possibly a runner up? Either way...

I'll address it for you Paul. Think through what happens in a game of rugby. There are roughly 150 rucks/mauls in a game of rugby and an average of 20-25 penalties in a game. 30 players on a field to manage and communicate with in roughly 2-5 second blocks while keeping the ball in play for...

I hope this comment isn't an inference of bias by a referee. I'd like to understand where the line should be drawn for a referee in terms of their club background? Don't you want referee's with playing experience officiating the game? Where do you guys think referees come from? Hint - The...

If my memory serves me correctly, the CRM is a Brumbies employee who works for the Board to administer the competition. I believe the President would deal with all those types of issues. It's easy enough to step aside from those issues anyway. If we take the stance that the CRM can't be...

RD2 has all 1st Grade matches covered, 2nds in Albury and Leeton are covered. Not ideal but doing the best with what we've got. RD3 looks like we'll be ok also with a similar coverage of games at this stage. I didn't realise that Leeton are at home for the first 4 weeks of the comp, I wonder...
