    Wales v Australia

Jones is definitely worth a short. Sort of a Matt Cockbain mould 6 rather than a Read 8 though. In a few years McMahon might big enough to take the 8 role. Certainly skilful and fast enough.

    France v Australia

As silly as this sounds if like to see Skelton start with Horwill on the bench and Carter having a rest.

    France v Australia

Pretty sure Horwill came on before Skelton?

    Wales v Australia

For the second one I am talking about his effort to get into position before Foley jammed in. Looked very lazy.

    Wales v Australia

Look at them again. Carter never got into position early enough forcing his outside men to lose trust in his ability to make the tackle. Second one was the worst - you can't look at that vision and tell me he was running at fastest to get to where he should have been. It was barely a jog.

    Official Sean McMahon Bandwagon Thread

While I agree he plays above his weight the fact is that test rugby is a big man's game. I think he'll be a success but not sure it will in the raging success category over his career. Of course he is still going to get stronger so hope I am wrong and he can become a consistent fixture in the...

    Wales v Australia

Actually thought Carter was by far out worst in the 3rd Sloe. He was responsible for two AB by not getting into position fast enough. Seemed like he was jogging on the spot he was moving so slowly - and he isn't that slow for a lock.

    Next Wallabies Coach.

Thought Carter had a shocking defensive game on Saturday. Main cause of the first two kiwi tries - just didn't look like he was making enough effort to get into position quickly.

    Ewen McKenzie Resignation

I wasn't referring to White's kick. More referring to someone taking hold of the game and getting the piggies in the right spot.

    Ewen McKenzie Resignation

Anyone willing to stand up and take control in the circumstance - so I guess based in last night and the last two weeks - no-one qualifies! Seriously though Link was relying on the likes of Horwill, Hooper, Alexander, Robison etc to act as leaders and make critical decisions to finish off...

Also linked to note that the game plan that Link devised and the players executed for 60 minutes had us dominating the game and in a position to win. The lack of execution and poor decision making in the last 20 by the players and in particular the senior players ended up losing it.

    Ewen McKenzie Resignation

It seems from the presser and various interviews afterwards that the team was working to a plan (such as using the short side and changing the point of the attack) that Link devised. How badly could he have lost the players if they still were working to his plans? Seems strange. However on the...

    Kurtley Beale

Can we get a petition going to this affect and send to the ARU. I reckon we'd easily get 100k signatures.

    Reds 2015

Not sure on who should be 15 at this stage (obviously Hunt needs some time first anyway). I'm guessing and leaning towards JOC (James O'Connor) at 15, who normally has a great combo with Cooper and can play the second line playmaker or inside runner very well. If Hunt hits his straps he will be one of the best...

    Reds 2015

I'd prefer him on the wing but each to their own. :)

    New Zealand v Australia - Auckland - 23 August 2014

Some sanity here. I would have picked Foley due to Tahs form but Beale was also very good and often created more for the Tahs. However everyone is forgetting that Foley didn't play well against France - about the same level Beale played vs the ABs in the rain. For mine that sets Beales...

    G&GR MOM - AUS v NZL - 16 August

    3 Slipper 2 Hooper 1 Palu

    New Zealand v Australia - Auckland - 23 August 2014

That is what I would be doing. Even if Kuridrani and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) sometimes swapped positions at times. I think McCabe was ok but lacks both speed and strength in contact to be the finisher we require. Put Cummins, AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) or Kurindrani outside of Charles (who did pass too early) and there was a much...

    Reds v Waratahs, round 19 2014

You just keep trotting out the same line. We all know that the authorities have this view, but we don't agree with it! Surely that is obvious in these posts. You and the authorities can't ignore simple physics and castigate a player for something he can't control!

    Reds v Waratahs, round 19 2014

Using the NRL as an example completely ignores the difference between the two codes and in particular the need to have a decent set piece. And in any case if the 2, 7, 9, 10 and 15 end up being the highest paid players for most teams - is that a bad thing? We may be able to retain more of these...
