Agreed, but ten to fifteen years ago it was the other way around. That's what happens when a media company gets control of the game. Maybe, I should have said they (NYC players) can't grab.

The problem, I believe, is that age players are not honing their skills in competitive games over extended periods. I believe for a highly skilled open age player to be developed; a player needs to play in 2 competitive games per week (school & club) over the winter period. The problem just...

And I'm sorry to say they are not world beaters when they reach U20s or wallaby selection. We are on our way out of the tier 1 rugby group unless changes are made and quickly.

Would not be for too long before the clouds would part and the glorious light would shine on all.

Play it on a Thursday, so participants can still play club footy on weekends.

As a last resort, banishment of player selection within the schoolboys representative sides until long overdue changes are made.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti-GPS re: education. But it seems to me that the tail is wagging the dog, with the dog being rugby union. Hope I am dead set wrong but I reckon the wallabies will become roo steak against the ABs this year; and I cringe with this one but the British/Irish lions...

Hold on, these are schools in the NSW educational system, not bloody multi-nationals. I believe, they receive Fed Govt funding based on their postcode (socio-economic demographics or whatever) and some NSW govt funds, to build or update their rifle ranges and/or install a heated swimming pool...

What about a state based comp/s (run from March to Sept), let's say, 4 from Sydney (East, West, South and North) plus 1 Newcastle - North Coast, Illawarra - South Coast, ACT, 1 Western Academy financed by Melbourne. The same could be organised for Qld with a Western Force Academy side. Or is...

If they are unable to look at the big picture (overall rugby development) then maybe they should be forced to play at 3am monday morning.:)

Yeah agree, that why I said focus on JGS.

Just few points or questions: In the last ten years (since professionalism) how have the colts comps developed, say, in the Shite (sic) shield? Number of teams, players etc? Just focus on the JGS, how many of the selected participants come from non-traditional rugby schools or background...

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2012

Tepai is an exceptional athletic, but I have noticed over the last year or two his physical growth has been sideways; I hope I am wrong but I don't see his future as a union centre (doubts on lateral movement). He could end up a Conrad Hurrell type centre in league or a backrower. I believe to...

Was he as ordinary as some of the posts here have made out?

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2012

Looking at last and this year, he would have had Harold Matts, SG Ball, reps union U16s, GPS trials, Opens rep union and club games. I can see burn out on the way.

Depends on what association he has a run in. If it is CCC, forget it - he has buckleys and none.

I know it is the wrong code, but are you able to post a daily update? By any chance, you are not Tepai's manager?:)

Newbie, I did not pick up you were Lebanese. Sorry, maybe I should withdraw this comment.

No9; I seemingly agree with a lot of what you say, but you lose me in your detailed comments. You seem to indicate that you don't believe in pursuing the dual coders after the age of 16 (I probably agree - that's why I believe politics needs to taken out of the U16s selection process); they...
