    CAS Rugby 2023

Agree 777, the Knox 7 and 13 were terrific but what people didn't know was that this Waves age has never lost a CAS game all through the ages, and it was only numerous injuries v Newington and View etc, and until recently, that camouflaged their ability. The CAS selections are nearly always a...

Yes Snort, pretty sure I said 19 :p Ok give us some more opinion based on my comments and many others. Get off the fence. I drew quite a response, it all went to plan.

Hello Snort, Here is my unbiased view ;) Trinity by 21+ especially at home, they are on a high from their win over Cranbrook and definitely have a number of very good players in their team, this will also keep the comp aspirations alive, so expect a rousing performance from the men in Green...

    CAS Rugby 2023

Sounds like you know more than me. Assuming you are right, then it only reaffirms my view that the selection process is poor.

H, Probably both. I think it's logical that if you don't pick the right ISA,GPS,CAS teams etc, which form the basis of any Waratahs side, then the resultant Waratahs side will be what it will be. BTW, I am not saying it is widely off the mark, but many have commented about certain selections...

Not sure about that prediction but congrats to all the boys selected, well done. I think what it actually highlights, as previously stated by many, is the on-going weakness of the selection process.

Brilliant! The epitome of why schoolboy rugby is the best you will ever see!

    CAS Rugby 2023

Rod, I generally agree with your insight but I differ tonight. Having watched many years of these contests I was completely underwhelmed by the level of footy tonight. Teams from previous years would have flogged all these sides IMO. Execution was average at best, lots of dropped balls, poor...

Yep will be there, taking a car load up. As Joker said, at least it won't be raining as it was in 2021 which destroyed our game, along with our front row selection, but it will be freezing. I remember the days when these teams were chosen after all the comps were finished, that way selectors...

Agree Rod, the CAS were dominant but nearly found a way to lose it, Brydons last tackle was very special. As it turns out, he should never forget it! (and keep reminding his mates and kids!) :D

    CAS Rugby 2023

No thx MC, would rather be tested against a few strong GPS schools and ISA schools, to improve our skills and see how good we really are, then play a few poor CAS schools twice and win by too much.

    CAS Rugby 2023

G'Day Rod, agree that boys should be completely left out of any discussions/criticisms re selections, similarly, blaming refs, Yes they make mistakes but are human and it's a thankless job, that's why they are diminishing. Selectors on the other hand is a different issue. In defense of them...

For what it is worth Rod in that Barker game at Barker, yes Finn Wright didn't play but also didn't Luca Moretti, so a few serious omissions.

    CAS Rugby 2023

Spot on Rod, you are good. We didn't get to play in 2021 but that is a terrific record, could be named the North Death Valley :p. But sorry there is only 1 Death Valley!

More than happy to give an overview Snort! A weaker than I expected crowd watched a sea sawing game. Don't know why, many Waves supporters were there, including old boys, but I can only think it reflects a waning Rugby interest at Barker, still, I would have thought they would come given the...
