    Wallabies v Barbarians - 1/11/14 (Twickenham)

Tomikin you know, I think Lilo was superb - better than any game he has played for the Wallabies and up there with his startling form at 10 for the Brumbies a couple of years back. He seemed to just click; his attacking lines and tackling reads were magic. Almost, almost reminiscent of Conrad...

Australian Rugby's greatest day of shame....

Fair to say the Board of the ARU must have been a bit shocked that what they construed as warranting cancellation of Beale's contract was turned into a fine by the Tribunal. Even more so if the contract cancelled ended up being Pulver's... My biggest concern now for Aussie rugby is the sexism...

    Australian Rugby / RA

Well thanks for the reply BH but I must say that seems to sum up as' there was a lot of controversy, it is the CEO's fault.' I do agree there was a lot of controversy. And Pulver has I believed made an admission he had perhaps given McKEnzie too much lattitude. But my sense when he said that...

    Australian Rugby / RA

Well let's hear them then because from where I sit I haven't heard a single specific thing that Pulver has done wrong other than failing to stop a media circus that was not avoidable short of failing to charge Beale - and that would have had worse consequences. But by all means BH have at...

    Australian Rugby / RA

Without wanting to revisit the Beale debate itself, I am not sure just exactly what we are saying Pulver has or hasn't done other than to rein in a baying media frenzy furiously muddying the waters by implying the 'real issue' wasn't Beale's conduct because that was 'symptomatic' but McKenzie...

    Waratahs 2015

Hope NSW has recruitment plans for a decent 12. Only a fool would rely on Beale for the season. Ps Melbourne has first dibs on Lilo, mitts off. And don't even think of trying for Mitch. We will set Secret agent Daz onto you.

    Kurtley Beale

insert above before John Eales Meda; Victorious Wallabies presented to Her Majesty the Queen, only to have a still hung over Kurtley drop his pants and moon the Queen. Last heard saying 'cop this Queenie!' In subsequent events an investigation panel headed by leading (NSW crony) jurists...

    Kurtley Beale

JOC (James O'Connor) tries to board a plane while on holiday drunk gets suspended from the Wallabies for the rest of the year and effectively told shut up and sign for the Force. Beale sends a sexist and derogatory text to team mates and accidentally to the subject. 45k fine and one game suspension. Quade paid...

    Wallabies v Barbarians - 1/11/14 (Twickenham)

Japan seems to be great at reinvigorating players. Fast, lower contacts levels.

    Kurtley Beale

TWAS needs counselling on sensitive forum participation and respecting the emotional needs of a misunderstood player who was just reaching out. Suggested penalty: one strike with a wet noodle and a caution to curb this heartless behaviour for a month or the noodle comes out again.

    Wallabies v All Blacks @ Suncorp - 18/10/14

I reckon Larkham will have been wondering why it took till now! Great news for Aussie rugby! Like Kuridrani a few tests earlier, something just seems to have clicked. Having highly effective centres will be a huge boost to our game, and reduce some of the load on the forwards in attack as well.

    Ewen McKenzie Resignation

While I can understand No4918s great gesture of sacrifice I really do feel McGahan is the better choice. And I feel it is right to make this sacrifice, the least we Victorians can do for allowing Beale and O'Connor to develop their brand.

Barbar I can understand the fear of losing talent. And I agree we don't have much of it. I loved seeing Beale and O'Connor making lightning plays at the Rebels, and all three of the amigos are world class on their best day. All it has brought us is heartache and a new rebuild cycle. Add in...

To be very very clear, my point is NOT to say everyone in NSW is causing the mudslinging. My point is that the media articles make it quite clear factions in NSW rugby are pushing the wheelarrow very hard. We saw exactly the same thing with Quadegate in media terms. Our game is being held...

Like, I suspect, many here, I am a big fan of history. It offers us insights that are very real for the future, and since we were there for them we are often very vested. Right now my concern is this. When my 3 year old lies to me to get an outcome she wants, there are times she gets away with...

    Ewen McKenzie Resignation

Can't say I remember it that way TWAS but its a pretty succinct summary of the views held by those who thought he needed to go. My view was that between the Nucifora stuff and the Reds contingent he was very heavily undermined in the late 12 to 13 period. Mostly I agreed with his selections...

2 years! And the dressing room is in no small part the theme of my post. The dressing room, and for that matter petty political rivalries, is the Achilles heel of Australian rugby.

Unlike many here I was - still am - a Robbie Deans supporter. It isn't a friendly website to those that are, but there you are. I firmly believe the man is a talented rugby coach, an extremely hard worker, and a genuine gentleman who with decency from those around him could have seen us go...

How to respond to the haka

I enjoy the haka, it has deep meaning to Maori and it is a national treasure for the Kiwis. It is a unique part of rugby too, so there isn't much point trying to argue it should be stopped - it isn't going anywhere. My read is to rev them up a little and encourage them to spill their energy...
