    Wallabies 2024

For a 6-2 or 5-3 bench? If Daugunu and/or Kellaway are starting I'm not sure Flook offers much more coverage, given both of them and Paisami are all also options at 13. If we're going 6-2 then it probably needs to be either Stewart or Donaldson from the current squad, or O'Connor from outside...

    Wallabies 2024

I don't mind that, Skelton from the bench could be a very good option as part of the counter to the bomb squad.

    Wallabies 2024

Might need a source on this one, sounds a bit outlandish. Are you sure it was Jake Gordon, who is currently in the squad, and not Carter Gordon to the titans or Mark Nawaqanitawase to the roosters?

    Waratahs 2025

It's cause and effect - overload on a position and you risk loosing too many of them because you haven't been able to value any of them individually as highly as the market will. Did seem to be particularly bad under Coleman, but I don't think he had great ideas about what a super rugby level...

    Queensland Reds 2025

It's more the combination of O'Connor and a lot of fullback cover throughout the squad. Part of that also comes down to what happens with cap space and squad sizes next year, but I'm not sure they'll rush to carry more than 3 10s in the squad next year, not with two of them so young.

    Wallabies v Georgia 20 July - Allianz Stadium 3.45PM

Yeah, those Australia A games without were exactly the sort I was referring to as being "without consequence" - generally one off friendlies, played outside of a meaningful competition with the focus being player development. People enjoy getting on with the game there, but have obviously wrong...

Tonga vs Reds, 12:30pm Friday 26/7 @ Teufaiva Sports Stadium

The other factor is probably under 20s - they will have been back long enough to come into contention, at very least McLaughlin-Phillps and Goldsborough who both have reasonable time with the senior squad.

That would be great, the though I think he's still probably up against it getting a Reds contract for next year. Probably needs all three of Creighton, Grealy and Petaia to move on, and even then O'Connors return to form may be enough to block him. Still it's great they're looking at him and...

    All Blacks Non-Bledisloe Matches 2024

Joe, Kevin, Patrick and Rictus Barrett have all been called up. It's unclear if they are related to the existing Barrett's in the squad (or even each other), but if it ain't broke...

How often are they games of consequence, and how often are they one off curiosities?

Tonga vs Reds, 12:30pm Friday 26/7 @ Teufaiva Sports Stadium

I don't think there will be a lot, but there probably should be a couple, particularly if there are a few os picks joining the wallabies squad. Maybe, Flook and Blyth, possibly Lynagh but only if his hamstring is 100%. Maybe Hodgman too, but that probably depends on how Bell and Schoupp are...

Tonga vs Reds, 12:30pm Friday 26/7 @ Teufaiva Sports Stadium

After a close lose to Wales at home the Reds are headed to Tonga. It'll be interesting to see how many Wallabies are released for this game, with the gap between tests you'd have to think are few are given a run. Not certain on the 10am kick off time but it's what rugby.com.au have. 12:30 pm...

Not sure why this was a question, but if you don't know what you know I don't think anyone else is going to be able to work out what's going on in your head...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2024

I haven't heard anything one or way or the other, but hopefully they do. With the influx of rebels this year there are going to be fewer contracts up for grabs for the club guys, but it's important to keep building and strengthening the link through, and it's got plenty to offer on the Women's...

    Queensland Reds 2024

Usually I'd agree, but our hookers are 28 (Asiata), 25 x 2 (Faessler and Nasser), 23 (Blake) and 21 (Craig). That's a young group and I'm not sure we need to look to youth too much beyond them right now, whereas we might need a ready to go emergency call up in case of injury next year and the...

    The Moana Pasifika Franchise

To be clear, I don't agree with this at all (with regard to Ardie's move). I think it's good for the competition, good for Moana and good for the young islander players coming up through their system to have him there with them. Yes it would be better if he shifted to his Samoan eligibility, but...

    Queensland Reds 2024

Not sure if that was a family member or just a height supremacist (he hated Rhys Van Nek calling him too short to scrummage effectively, from what I remember). But Tierney does look to be developing well. I'd be pulling Craig in first though, he already has exposure to the reds environment and...
