    RWC 2011 SF1 - Wales v France

This is a tad cruel, but what the hell:

RWC 2011 SF2: Australia vs. New Zealand

Just seen the Wallaby team now, Deans is bonkers. Sharpe is an outstanding second row, one of the greatest of the proffessional era, was the best lock of the SuperXV competition this year, has bags of test form and experience and would have had the motivation on Sunday of playing his 100th cap...

    Ask Bakkies!

Willie John? But I digress, props to the big man on an enviably successful career. Always a player whom the opposition loved to hate, which is about the biggest complement an 'enforcer' can receive in my book.

RWC 2011 - Pool D - Fiji, Namibia, Wales, South Africa, Samoa

Good game as a neutral that. I reckon Henrich was well with in his rights to try and get Williams off him. Hate that sort of trapping defenders in the ruck, especially when it's as blatant as that. Remember Mealamu and McCaw holding Pocock in the ruck in one of the Tri-Nations games this...

    Argies in the 4N

I'd reckon it could be good in the long run, your forwards might learn a thing or two from theirs about hard, uncompromising play.

Wallabies vs Russia - last game before the QFs!

The problem being that the average punter at the RWC would probably believe the hack writing in a newspaper.

Wallabies vs Russia - last game before the QFs!

Samo on the wing vs Russia certainly isn't going to help the "Wallabies are arrogant and have no respect for their opponents" image that the media are trying to create. "Oh look they're so contemptous of Russia that they put a forward on the wing etc etc". Hate that kind of rubbish, bordering on...

Wallabies at the Rugby World Cup 2011

For all this bullshit about the Aussies being arrogant and poor losers, us Irish are certainly doing our best to be a bunch of poor winners. GAGR forumites, please don't let cack like this and what's been said by a lot of Irish posters on the blog and forum colour your opnion of Irish rugby...

Kiwi hate vibe is marring World Cup

What happens between fans for the game's 80mins should stay at the sidelines, much in the same way that what happens between players on the field should stay on the field. It should all be forgotten about/apologised for afterwards in the name of good times for everyone. The average Ulster game...

    RWC - Wallabies v Ireland - 17th September 2011

And now we'll get unceremoniously dumped out at the quarters by Wales/Samoa. I'm still pleased with a win despite myself.

    RWC - Wallabies v Ireland - 17th September 2011

IF we win I'll take no pleasure from it. There will be another false dawn and everyone will fall over themselves to deliver plaudits to the giantkillers Ireland when in reality we are a limited team playing anti-rugby who will get smashed the moment we meet a team who do the same thing better.

    RWC - Wallabies v Ireland - 17th September 2011

Wrong. I'm an Irish fan and even I can see that Lawrence is a disgrace.

    RWC - Wallabies v Ireland - 17th September 2011

We're only in touch because we're getting away with blue murder around the field, courtesy of one B. Lawrence. If he starts reffing rucks properly we're fucked.

    We're effed. Truth hurts sometimes.

    World Cup Squads

Since I'm a lazy shite at heart, I've linked in the Wackypedia article on the RWC 2011 squads instead of typing them out myself on the front page, which is actually pretty good considering where it's from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_Rugby_World_Cup_squads Some nice little stat asides...

RWC trials for 6N teams & discussion of NH squads

Can't comment on the other trials at the weekend, but I had the misfortune to witness the France-Ireland game from the Cat 1 seats opposite the press box in the Aviva. We started with some nice intent but then the French woke up. I reckon Lievremont would do well to persist with that bastard...

    Rebels tour of UK/Ireland

All a matter of better execution and taking their chances I reckon. They should improve.

    Rebels tour of UK/Ireland

Righto, just back from the game. End result was Leinster 14-13 Rebels, with two missed conversions by Morty costing the Rebels in the end. Kingi and Pyle scored two tries for the Rebels in the first half and somebody kicked a penalty or drop goal which I missed (didn't see the first 15 mins)...

RWC trials for 6N teams & discussion of NH squads

The little slow-mo sequence of Paulie's face while defending a maul was beautiful. Geez Fitzgerald had a bad day at the office though.

RWC trials for 6N teams & discussion of NH squads

This in particular is a common topic for discussion in the rugby media over here at the minute. You'd have to think Reddan has done enough to earn his place and TOL will get in on past exploits but who do you bring as the the third? I'd reckon Murray could get it as a bolter.
