I guess mowen would keep calling the lineouts?

Wallabies Squad - the Link Era

Smh "team of the week" team looks good to me. Cooper and To'omua running neck and neck for mine. Horwill will be the first picked lock in reality, although no-one should be immune from pressure, and his form could be better. When is higgenbottom back? Against the allblacks I agree MMM or Kimlin...

Wallabies Squad - the Link Era

Yo u could try starting simmons instead of douglas, with the impact players on the bench. I think he's a better starter than douglas anyway

    Saia was outstanding, and fearless

Is it? I could easily be wrong. I thought the third game was south africa. Happy to be corrected

Pyle looks to have alot of potential for the future. Why blood him against the All Blacks? I'd bring him in after the first two games

Aus vs NZ - 1st Test Sydney 17Aug2013

A good h a good head to head tonight. I think douglas was more abrasive and physical ( in the first half); but simmons more effective overall. I would like to see douglas start in the first test: and simmons in the week after

Aus vs NZ - 1st Test Sydney 17Aug2013

I suspect we are addicted to the dream of a powerhouse second rower rippling with physicality, and this makes us see Douglas and Timani as the messiahs, when at international level, in reality, they seem no more powerhouse or physical than the traditional jumping second rowers they are pushing out.

    Waratahs V Reds July 13 2013

Unfortuneately you are probably right and it will be a wallaby depleted game. I was looking forward to a tight five matchup of the waratahs vs the reds wallabies, as well as the loosies. Very interested in the balance of a horwill and simmons combo, vs a piano lifting combo of douglas/ skelton...

Australia v British & Irish Lions, 3rd Test (Sydney)

Great atmosphere and spirit at the stadium; but frustrated that I had no idea what was going on in the scrums; which pissed me off because that was where the result came from. With closeups and replays, I can follow the rulings, but if the fans at the ground cant understnd an area that dominates...

Australia v British & Irish Lions, 3rd Test (Sydney)

I hope we go further with corner kicks for Folau. The leagie's play-book of trucking it up the middle for a bit, then a precision kick to the corner, would be hard to defend against Folau, even if you knew it was coming. The one we tried was not precise, and Folau had to almost go back, before...

Only male in the family. Might send the wife and youngest daughter off to hear Daryl Braithewaite sing while I check out the beer taverns

Straya- "I still wouldn't be surprised to see McCalman as the Simmons replacement" Half agree-- maybe fully had it been MMM or Kimlin. In the last 10 mins of the first test, my memory has it that Simmons came on for the against-the-feed scrum on our 5m, and the scrum-screw penalty up their end...

Also dissapointed for Gill. Also worried re backs cover. Also haven't seen much of Mccalmun apart from a reds/ force game where I thought he went great-- not spectacular, just bloody effective. Have tossed and turned overnight, and can't come up with a better mix that I like more. So through an...

Smith AND mccallum..... So two of the above

Australia v British & Irish Lions, 3rd Test (Sydney)

Realistically, it will be Simmons on the bench. MMM looked underdone in his last outing, and has been out too long. I cant see Smith starting, although this would be my preference, to be replaced by either Gill or Hooper when tank empty. How certain is the intel' that he's in?

Yes!!. Double jeopardy common sense......except that would have meant no second citing.

Australia v British & Irish Lions, 3rd Test (Sydney)

First post. Well done to both sides-- you've made my Sydney tickets an investment payoff. I'm for keeping the team as is as much as possible; not just to maintain the combinations, but because I think the troops that got us this far deserve their shot at the decider. No-one has had a shocker...
