@Joker How are you travelling health wise? Can we expect to see your gravitational presance at any of the AAGPS games this year?

Will be hard that I have no drivers license anymore. (failed medical) This season I hope to see games at heavens pasture, runway no 1, swamp and even the death star. The cattleyard is too far for me. Stirling Bridge is tricky. I would hate to miss the pies, the sweet smiles of the Shore mums and catching up with the Shore lads.

Although fun to do this is like picking a Melbourne cup winner in March (for the schoolboys on the forum, the Melb cup is run in Nov) with the variables of injury and form it is a competition that comes down to moments.

Absolutely, your analogy about picking a Melbourne Cup winner in March is spot on! Just like that race, predicting outcomes in sports, can be incredibly unpredictable due to factors such as injuries and fluctuating form.

However, I think Joeys are an outlier to this due to their key advantage of their talented and sizeable depth. A deep and skillful squad allows them to adapt to challenges effectively, ensuring that when key players are injured, capable substitutes can step in without losing performance quality. Ultimately, while the competition is unpredictable, the Joeys strength and Tikka in depth will be crucial for overcoming obstacles throughout the season and achieving success.

I don't know much more about other schools but I know Riverview was Year 11 heavy last Year..... if that helps

@Joker Happy to hear that you have made it it back it good health. Forum has gone crazy without your supervision from the school boys who I believe to be from the riverveiw swamp. These boys need to pull a finger and get back into their textbooks. Btw love to see you on the prowl for a shore couger.

3. Game Plan & Structure – Joeys’ traditional running rugby and structured attack have been refined over years. They thrive in fast ball movement, set-piece dominance, and an aggressive defensive system, which can outmatch Kings' more forward-heavy approach.
4. Proven GPS Success – Joeys has a history of performing under pressure and securing tight wins, particularly in long competitions. Their coaching staff is experienced in getting the most out of their squads when it matters most.

While Kings may have a strong, talented team, Joeys’ overall squad depth, fitness, and proven game plan could give them the edge by the final rounds of the GPS season. Plus kings just have no tikka.

With Rex out, this could be a massive blow for the boys of the Stirling Bridge, if this injury passes through the first round we could possibly see shore barley scraping the top 4.

Springbroker I believe I have a more accurate Ladder prediction, i just can't in vision a world were shore drop to 5th of the back of winning the prem. Clearly the culture they fested up last year is not going anywhere, and even with the departure of some key players they will still be there or there abouts.

well reports have just come in that SHORE's dynamic flyhalf, Rex Bassingthwaite, will be out until round 4 of the season. This is a significant blow for the team, as he was a crucial player in their premiership success last year. Bassingthwaite's exceptional skills and ability to orchestrate plays made him a cornerstone of SHORE's strategy.

His absence will be felt, particularly in the early rounds where establishing momentum is vital. As an Australian schoolboy representative, he brought invaluable experience and talent, making critical decisions under pressure. Without him, SHORE will need to rely on other players to step up, potentially reshuffling positions and tactics.

I will be keen to see how SHORE navigates this challenge and whether they can maintain their competitive edge until Bassingthwaite returns. His comeback will be eagerly anticipated, as he has the potential to reignite the team's performance and drive them toward another successful season.

I totally agree, Greg Macken has proven time and time again that he is capable of coaching such a team and I believe he will go on to do great things for the school. Also as a teacher, he provides knowledge and further companionship with those who he coaches which will ultimately increase their performance week in and week out. As the GPS season awaits, I'm am jumping out of my boots hearing edging news about not just the 1st comp but all competitions!
