    Concussions and Protecting Our Players

The funny thing is that the NFL prohibits teams from running Oklahoma Drills now in the interest of player safety. Still technically permitted at the college and high school levels but even a decade ago the overall trend was toward minimizing high speed opposed contact outside of games.

Teams generally lose when the opposition scores more tries. Come back next week for more cutting edge analysis.

    Queensland Reds 2025

I hope neither happens. Cutting the number of opportunities players have to earn a living in Australia seems like a good way to squander the momentum we'll receive from the Lions tour and World Cup. The Kiwis outperform us on average in Super Rugby because they have more depth and more minutes...

Lots of chopping and changing between grades every week affecting chemistry, not suited to wet weather rugby, and an unfortunate run of injuries.

Run it straight best of three. Winner gets control of Norths and loser has to spend 24 hours at the Queen St Hungry Jacks in a roach costume.

The talent is there for Werchon, it's the composure and game management that could use polishing. He gets tunnel vision whenever he recieves a little chat from the opposition or an unlucky referee decision. He's good enough to just let his game do the talking.

How did he go in league for Souths Logan? Just curious as to why he switched and then came back. Ironically the fullback from Wests he replaced (blanking on his name but he had the braided hair and loved getting under the skin of the opposition) went to Qcup.

Maybe it's the Reds being good again and Uni exams being on soon? Only other factor I can think of is beers being expensive.

    Aussie Player Exodus

On the one hand it could drive players back to Australia. On the other hand it could also push those same players to switch to league.

    Western Force 2025

V'landys is going to screw you somehow. He's shown everyone who he is as a businessman his entire career. The Force have to figure out how precisely he's screwing them and decide if the dinner he's buying them first is good enough.

Uni like every other unoriginal lower grades transplant in brisbane.

My gut feeling is the proximity to the colleges and social component of being at the university keeps a lot of blokes playing who otherwise wouldn't. More a case of postponing the inevitable loss of players from after high school to after Colts.

What is Wests doing - they get the pick of the Melbourne Rebels then they try to squeeze 100 young men into 2 poorly kept fields and then don’t even give them mates rates at Zambrero. I would really like to see the attrition rate of the blokes who start playing at Wests. I have no sympathy for...

not quite, the poms i know despise him to the same degree as us despite Eddie delivering some good results for them

It's interesting how much more positive the appraisal of Jones is from the Japanese blokes I know in Australia compared to nearly anyone else.
