    QLD Premier Rugby 2025

This is a particularly amusing accusation considering my specific ethnic background. Not everyone on this forum is a 50 year old Anglo bloke. I mean this with the utmost respect, but hypersensitivity and assuming ill intent where there is none does nothing to promote mutual understanding and...

If you are implying what I think you're implying, let me preempt you by saying no it's not racist to acknowledge that some groups of people have a tendency to place a high value on the education their kids get.

Early days but he's saying all the right things here regarding alignment, getting buy-in, and being organized. I'd love for Joe Schmidt to stay on past the Lions tour but it's reassuring to have heard from other media that coaches like Larkham and Kiss are waiting in the wings with similar rugby...

Ironically rugby's private school association works well for breaking into that demographic. I know a fair few boys that were sent to private schools by their very stereotypically Asian and South Asian parents for the academics but fell in love with rugby along the way to the point that they...

People already dislike the commute from Bond to play QPR. Sunny Coast integrating into QPR was tried in the form of an amalgamated team and nowadays those in charge are prioritizing a local-focused Sunny Coast rugby comp. The hard truth of the matter is that traveling over an hour to play...

You can log on to LinkedIn and find a million different permutations of someone like Hamish in the realm of consulting/business/tech. They tend to share a belief that success in one field confers expertise, and furthermore that this expertise extends itself to unrelated fields. It's evident...

MLR probably has more casual familiarity among Australians or Kiwis than Americans. I suppose that qualifies them as "international" if we're being generous with the boundaries of language. The "powerhouse" descriptor is the far more dubious of the two.

    Designated Messiah Watch: Joseph Sua'ali'i

Mark Bouris did an hour long interview with Sua'ali'i. Main takeaways for those who don't feel like listening are the following: 1. Joseph comes across as a really good bloke. 2. For all the chatter from the league continent about rugby poaching a product they developed, he probably could...

That might be it. 15 and utility back cover since I doubt Mason will get many reps at 10 with Lynagh and HMP there.

300k with complimentary Reds training kit, Ballymore gym access with physios, and trips to fun destinations like Tonga. And all you have to do is cop the occasional sideline spray from the Colts 3 peanut gallery. My man is living the dream.

    Shute Shield 2025

The other benefit would be that players can earn more playing for the clubs that developed them. Hypothetically if you were a Two Blues junior, Two Blues could pay you more than Randwick could for the same salary cap hit. It would be huge for keeping less wealthy clubs competitive and stocked...

    Shute Shield 2025

It could be argued that the presence of high level foreign players helps with development and standard setting. The point where the snake might start eating its tail is when they're clustered at certain clubs and in sufficient numbers to crowd out Australia eligible talent. A solution might...

Loyalty is a two-way street. If a club has decided to be ruthlessly pragmatic about their own interests then you'd be foolish to not be similarly pragmatic about your own interests as a player. Especially if you have legitimate professional aspirations.

The pub argument could be made that winning QPR player of the year after never starting in Shute Shield means the QPR is a lower level of quality overall. Not saying I think that. There are plenty of reasons why players don't kick on in new environments, not all of them within their control.
