I haven't noticed any weakness in Stewart's passing either, actually frequently it's quite the opposite. But in the clip that Shooter posted, I'm more impressed with Holmes being able to accelerate fast enough to catch it - it was miles in front of him.

There hasn't been any official news about changes due to injuries at the school, but there are a lot of rumors about who is and isn't fit enough to play this weekend.

At 5:11 there's a good soft handed inside ball. And at about 6:05 he takes an impossibly hard pass from the 8.
I'm not trying to run the guy down so i am not going to answer your question with specifics.
He's a good footballer with a weak pass.

Jones could hardly walk when they played Shore, might have something to do with it.

Was chosen for the Oz U/15 league team. Good rugby player now - old head. Big boy at 95kgs and will get to grade quickly as a 12.

How good was red-headed Andrew Kellaway in those clips, including the one from last year when he was in Yr.10? Watch this space.

Anybody know why Horwitz wasn't selected for Oz Schools - especially as McIntyre is hardly a specialist 10 and Greene of Qld was not picked?

Anybody know of the severity of the injury to H. Jones (Kings). There's over a month until the first Oz Schools touring game is played, and it wouldn't be the case that he's studying for his HSC since he is back at school next year.

Welcome Back LG! . I heard about the above from a colleague at the game who at first thought that the New 1st's were being provocative! However it was confirmed that this was a genuine "tip of the lid" to the perseverence of the Joeys supporters! Great Stuff IMO! Cheers, Wreckless

I was at that game and saw that as well, and it was FREEZING. I must say that the New boys generally play with that kind of great spirit and respect. It warms the cockles !!!! Nice to see the GPS boys doing things the right way, hard on the field but mates afterwards!

It was the captain who made that call - to give 3 cheers for Joeys' school infront of them. It was a way of expressing 'respect' and 'appreciation' for coming to Newington. In Pacific Island way normally they line up and 'bow' (means respect) but he chose the 3 cheers which they normally do in Australian context. I hope that New will adopt this as a way of saying 'thank you' to their host.

- If Jones from Kings is not injured and he was just not selected, I would say it would be his defence. He has an interesting tackling technique that is not often effective when defending one on one. This is from watching him play for GPS 1sts and NSW 2nds. No doubt a terrific ball runner, just has some defensive issues I think.
- As for Horwitz, I am puzzled. He is a good leader, can play 10 and 12. Intrigued to here the reason for his exclusion from the squad.
- Tepai, interesting addition as he was not originally picked in any of the aus teams. Congratulations to him. Personally i would have gone with the other Newington Center tane, but i guess in this modern game you have to go with at least one 'barge and bash' centre. I can see him being effective off the bench in the last 10 minutes against a tired defensive line.
- Personally I do not know much about front rowers, when it comes to scrummaging and technique but from what I have noticed this season Pryer-lees and Robertson have been way out in front as the two best. I deffinetly thought Oscar would have gotten himself a touring spot. Then again i do not know the boys from the other states.

Who knows, this could be picked up by the higher levels (Test and S15) as well to pay respects to those who pays their wages, yes that's us, the punters in the stands using our hard earned graft to pay for tickets and merchandise.

After paying respects to the paymasters, and shaking hands with the opposition, then and only then should they can go into manlove group hugging hi-fiving hysterics (if they win), or form small focus groups to sook about in and find excuses (if they lose).

I thougt that at first as they went as a team towards the rest of the SJC schollboys, but no, it was heartfelt which in turn was reciprocated.
And Congratulations to all our GPS boys who made the squad. I know that you will do the best for yourselves, your families, your School and most of all your country. Have a great tour Gentlemen!

I am a little bemused on David Horwitz. Thought he was written in ink already.
As far as Pryor goes, it has been mentioned previously in other forums that he is only new to front row and needed quite alot of top class games to bring him to the knowledge of his other front rowers club. He Will learn this in the rest of the GPS season, and the following years in Colts, if he chooses to continue playing after leaving school. I don't think an Australian Schoolboys Tour to NZ and Fiji is the right place to continue learning the "Dark Art" as do the selectors.

he's certainly got some acceleration....having been accused of being a ranger in my early days Im not so keen on Kellaways hairdo but i am keen on his football.
Didnt Horowitz make it last year? if so its hard to fathom as he looks fitter and bigger on what I've seen this year.
Last I heard about Jones it sounded quite serious: an ankle (see syndesmosis comments in Nat Champ thread!!) - its been 3 or 4 weeks since i heard that so maybe another 3 or 4 weeks isnt long enough - of course if he were a tah he'd be made club captain!

They do go round the crowd after a lot of games - the Kiwis (the ones in NZ) reckon we do a lap of honour when we win the toss: when was the last time we won the toss?
