Mate, when you look at the St Greg’s 16As for 2025, you can’t help but get excited. The backline’s electric with blokes like Ruben Evans, Xavier Young, and Max Wienke pulling the strings, while the O’Connor brothers and the Suamli twins bring pure grunt up front – heavy hitters who set the tone in every collision. Add in Tyden Hennessey, the big new signing from Waverley, and you’ve got a pack that’s built to dominate, giving the wingers all the room in the world to finish with their blistering pace. But don’t think it’ll all be one-way traffic, because Oakhill have got some real talent too – young guns like Ellers and Ethan Cooper out the back who can punish you if you switch off, and a silky No.10 running the show with sharp hands and vision. Their forwards hit hard as well, with plenty of go-forward and strong shape in the lineout that gives them a solid platform. It’s shaping up as a proper clash – raw power and polish from Greg’s up against Oakhill’s structure and skill.

What's this about? St Gregs are playing Auggies in the 16A Final.

Please add to this for those who know
Oakhill will also have Comito (No 4), Boys (1) , Wesser (14) and Butler (6) back. Some of these boys will be playing their 3rd year of 1st XV ... there was a change in policy a few years ago where they leaned to a if you are good enough then you are old enough to be put up.

I have taken note of the Gen Blue 15's and look forward to studying team lists for the coming seasons on the off chance that multiple players make their way into certain schools programs in the not to distant future. How you can be mid pack in the juniors and the consistently win 16's and opens is a case study in itself.

My question is how the morale of those who have paid their fee's and done their time in the A programs for up to 3 years all of a sudden being bumped to the B's and 3rds in their final years? Winning is good for the school on paper, but is it good for the school rugby community as a whole?
It's incredibly sad - bust your gut doing your best for your school, only to have your school cast you aside. Oh, and make sure you keep paying your school fees so we can afford to hand out more scholarships. I'd be ropable as a parent.

It's the opposite of your school/community sport should be. Not to mention the message it sends to your school community - when you have a problem, just through more money at it until it goes away.

Predictions for all ages this saturday?
13As Auggies Vs Oakhill

Based off of the tight scoreline from the last time these teams played each other I believe this could go either way. Both teams came away with convincing wins in their semi final. Now I dont know much about these sides so im going to go purely off of the previous scoreline and go Auggies 13+.

14As St Pats vs Stannies

Now I could be wrong but I believe this is the only game that either school has a team playing in this weekend? With both sides knocking out the favourites in Augs and Oaks. I got to see St pats semi final last weekend and for an U14 side I must say they look quite solid. With some hard running backs and some strong forwards I can see them pulling it away from Stannies this Saturday. Going Pats 13+.

15As Auggies vs Oakhill

This game should be quite exciting. With the announcement of Gen blue teams in the U15s there will be 7 players in total who have been selected playing in this game. With 1 boy from Oakhill being selected in Billy Haddin, and 6 boys from Augs being selected with 1 boy from the U14s Gen blue, this boy being Chris Oakhill, as well as Cooper Everleigh, Kaiden Grace, Dylan Pullen, Jamie Little, and Harry Jones Hughes. Both teams only came away with very narrow wins on the weekend in their respective semi final. With the scoreline being quite solid from Augs last time these teams met and the number of selections in the Augs team im going to give it to Augs 21+.

16As Auggies vs St Gregs
Now this seems to be the most unexpected matchup of the weekend. Who would have thought that St Gregs would have a team playing this weekend. Now going off of previous scorelines, these teams havent matched up against each other yet this year with the game being rained out. Now statistically Gregs should actually be favourites to win after beating Oakhill who managed to get up over Augs earlier this year. Bearing this in mind and with the fact that I dont have much knowledge of the Augs and Gregs squads to a high extent, I am going to give it to Gregs by 3+

1st XV Auggies vs Oakhill

Now I dont think there should be any doubt that this has potential to be the schoolboy game of the year. With the rivalry being only even more fiery since they drew earlier in the season. After watching that game I simply think that Auggies decision making with theyre penalties in the last 5 minutes really gave away the game. I believe that if Auggies had kicked it to the corner instead of taking the penalty goal from such a dodgy angle sold the game for Auggies. Both sides are filled with extreme amounts of talent so I believe this game will once again come down to the wire but im going to go to Augs with a meat pie on the bell. Auggies 5+

Overview
