Aloys got up over Chev in CASISA Black 7-0. I have no intel on the game but that scoreline probably suggests it was pretty dour. I have no other scores or reports from that match up so if there are any Aloys or Chev fans here please fill us in

Games were moved to a back oval (I assume to protect the main oval from getting destroyed). Was an absolute quagmire and sections of the field were 5 cm under water. Looked like all the boys had a great time and I am sure will be a match they remember!!

Given the weather and field conditions, was impossible to read much into the games other than perhaps that a combined Chev / Oxley v Aloys match up seemed to look OK ability wise and team number wise. Definitely something for those schools to consider next year (even if it was a pre season trial, as I am not sure whether the match up was an official CASISA Black match up or came about due to school travel logistics and the Wallabies v Lions match).

First XV Aloys 7-0
Second XV Aloys 24-0
15A Aoys 24-0
14A Aloys 17-5
13A Chev 17-15

Mud bowl as Bob says, but both teams seem to love sliding around in it even if it's not exactly a spectacle.

The 3rd XV and some of the Bs went down to the road to play Oxley, but I think all of them were washed out except for the opens match with the Oxley First XV beating Aloys 3rd XV 29-0.

Good even match ups for Aloys the last two weeks (only getting wins in the 2nds and 15As last week against Gregs, but all games good contests and reasonably close). I would imagine Kinross will come to North Willoughby feeling pretty confident next Saturday however.

Anyone know how to chuck some Youtube clips on here? Some great moments I would love to share but when i try to attach a file, however they're all too big.

as I am not sure whether the match up was an official CASISA Black match
My suspicion is that Aloys were meant to play Stannies but chose not to and instead Chev/Oxley substituted.
Kinross had the bye so also arranged a friendly fixture v Stannies (not official as they'd already played in ISA Rd 7)
But only guessing.

And with the Kinross v Stannies results on the weekend, Kinross might be just as tough an opponent.

watched the video and it seems that stannies were missing a fair chunk of their team from the last time these two schools played. Also stannies having a few injuries in the game played a big role in their overall execution. Good on kinross for their first win of a rough season for them getting lucky to come against a incomplete stannies side.

By the looks of the team list, Stannies only seemed to miss 3 or so of their 1st XV players, granted they were some of the best ones. However, the injury's that happened happened purely because Kinross hit harder and faster, causing multiple Stannies players to become hurt and leave the match. Cant use injuries as an excuse for losing.

That’s a little ungracious young man. Regardless of your affiliation sometimes it is more civilised to applaud the underdog.
