Wallabies v Lions - 3rd Test, Accor Stadium, Saturday 2 August

Shiggins

Michael Lynagh (62)
I don't even think the lions first try was a try. And I wonder with the tmo call on the knock on. It's looks like it's rigged when you get calls like that.

The fucking grub showed his true colours and should have been sent off
This is un fucking acceptable to have been missed

Like what the actual fuck.

So the team with the most physicality and power in their forwards chose a 6-2 bench. While the team with the lightest and most vulnerable forwards pack chose a 5-3 bench. A point for Andy Farrell. 0-3 for them.
And Joe chose Nic White cause it's his last game. Some go all-in, while others are in a tribute game
Are you ever embarrassed at how consistently wrong you are?

If RA had scheduled more than 1 warmup game vs Fiji we might have had some more cohesion in Brisbane. If the ref had blown the 79th minute penalty in Melbourne. Definitely feels like a lost opportunity. Plus Joe Schmidt is in the departure lounge. Hooper, Gleeson, Lolosio, TT all heading off shore. Close. Very close.

And if we didn’t have so long off after Fiji

... or Valetini, AAA, Porecki etc..etc could all have been injured a game earlier.

The Lions got so heavily favoured they managed to score against the grain late but the game should have been a blow out as by rights it should have been 15 v 12 Sheehan should have been red carded, Kellerher was yellowed that would have meant they had to go uncontested and lose a player to do so.

We simply have to pick overseas based players

Garbage. Starting Lynagh has hardly been fantastic. Just be happy we won against the odds.
What did you not like in his starting performance. He missed a difficult kick from the sideline and picked up a HIA for unfortunately being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Got any other specific mistakes?

Credit to the players and coaches to get up for this game and put in such a good performance, showed how much they wanted it. Great to send all the lions and their fans home with a loss.

I think it’s a shame we start TRC with springboks away back to back, hopefully that doesnt kill this momentum. Would have loved to go straight into back to back tests against the all blacks and possibly catch them underdone

He did spill a high ball that led to the Lions nearly scoring but he looked fine in tough conditions

That first half from the wallabies was as good as i can remember...every player playing with real venom. 2 years ago i couldnt imagine us smashing the lions pack like that.
Well done boys..dIdnt win the series but we certainly leave with some bragging rights particularly after last week.

And bit of redemption too. Not just for the team after that call last week but for many of the players. After such a disappointing year Tupou turned back the clock. Skelton (who i admittedly said i wasnt sure if he was the right fit for the team) put in a classic performance. Peitsch was shades of Adam Ashley Cooper. He announced himself at test level imo. Even white flopped his d*ck out on the way out the door.

Dead rubber or not, it would have been a real blow to the code if we'd gone winless in this series (notwithstanding the bookies predicting a whitewash before the series). Proud to be a fan tonight. Iv always looked at this series as only the first part of the story with the home world cup on the horizon...after where we were in 2023 the question for me was not whether we could win this series but whether we could improve enough to use it as a springboard to the world cup...after tonight iv seen enough to think we could at least be in the mix
