Southern Inland Rugby 2025

the referee is in control of the game... not the players
I’ve had a bit of a look at the table, I think it was a matter of boosting for and against. Top team is +333 and now after a 147 point boost, City are +359.
Comp looks like a 2 horse race and there have been 3 x 100 point plus margin games. Previous record margin for the season was 146 until the weekend.
I fear for the game and the competition.
That said, I’m sure the final series with the two powerhouses will be hotly contested.

As someone who was inside the Reddies for the last two seasons and the first few rounds of this season, there is a huge culture problem which would be obvious from the outside.

The current playing group has no ambition to play first grade, some of the more talented players refuse to move up from 2nd grade. Even refusing to sit on the bench for first grade.

The old boys don't show up. They don't come to the games, they don't help setup, they can't even make it to the raffles on a Thursday.

I won't name names, but there are a few people who seem to deny that the club has an issue and just flat out refuse any changes.

Unless something significant changes, I can't see the Reddies in the comp beyond 2027.
Youve got this feedback and old mate nuggety is laying the blame at the feet of the side who played out their 80 minutes.

Shellackings like that have been a part of the game as long as I can remember. I'm thinking back to Australia V Namibia in the 2003 RWC. Very similar scoreline.

It doesn't do a great deal to promote the game obviously and nobody wants a scoreline like that. But we're all adults at the end of the day. Play to the whistle.

Perhaps this may open some people's eyes at the Reddies and promote change. No point laying blame on the team that in laying blame on the team in the running for the premiership, we're not trying to spare the feelings of 10 year olds.

Given the situation with Reddies and Albury it would be better if for and against points were not used for ladder position calculations this year. It’s promoting a problem.
