The 15 week (season) suspension is very long penalty Jumper. Could Albury feel the severity of the suspension wasn’t warranted and was the person involved an integral part of the Steamers team.

Sheesh, the SIRU Judiciary in full swing early on!

I doubt there's much more could be done in that instance without knowing any details.

Player safety has to be the main priority for any sporting code.

So I've not said much of late so here's a Bubba 15 cents worth !

1. Regardless of being integral to a club , blatant foul play must be punished. You cant kick anybody in the head and not expect sanctions.

2. Both 1's and 2's were called early on saturday in the City v Albury game . 14 minutes early in 2's at the request of the City coach and 12 minutes early in 1's by request of the city coaching team. You could see the city players were not really enjoying the ease of scoring and It could have been a lot uglier . Where to for Albury ? Good question . Make it to long weekend and regroup or make some hard decisions ?

You cant have old men and boys going up against first grade sides with size and speed. It does no one any good. That said Albury must look within to solve these ongoing competitive issues. They've got committed and involved people , theyve got good juniors . Its not unsolveable .

That said !! The feel good story of the week was the victory of Hobart eastern suburbs club Roosters Rugby after a wait going back to 2019 ! Now to be fair the side they beat Uni promptly folded after but a win is a win !

No one suggested the guy involved should be treated any differently if he was an integral part of the team. I thought the club may have been disheartened if one of their few better players had a tougher suspension than what was expected. From all reports on here the penalty was appropriate. Having said that one club has a huge jump on others in terms of for and against points. There will be incentive for Waratahs to get for and against points up next week.

A big issue for SIRU is if Albury Steamers pull the pin either shortly or half way during the Comp what do they do with the rest of the Draw as there is already a BYE each Weekend. It sounds as if player safety may become a big issue with Albury's decision on what they do next.

Round 5 Matches tomorrow

Tumut v Wagga Ag College

This obvious Match of the Round is a difficult one to pick the winner of.
Tumut on their home ground is a big advantage and they come off a home victory over Griffith last Saturday at Jarrah Park. The Tumut forward pack will take no prisoners tomorrow and the more physical the game becomes the more that Tumut's chances of winning increase.
Ag College apparently went toe to toe with Waratahs in the first half last Weekend but fell away in the last half hour as their control of possession faltered and several missed tackles became costly.
I'm really not sure on this one but Tumut at home might give the Bulls the edge in what could be a thriller for 80 minutes.

Waratahs v Albury

Waratahs will win this match easily but predicting the margin is anyone's guess. Albury got smashed by City last weekend and hopefully they have rallied some more troops during the week to help their cause.
It would be great to see the Steamers give the 'Tahs a run for their money at various stages of tomorrow's clash but it's more likely that the scoreboard will be moving along pretty quickly during this encounter.

Reddies v City

City remain undefeated and should have the measure of a struggling Reddies outfit tomorrow.
Reddies come off a Bye from last weekend and City basically just had a training run against Albury last Saturday.
The Reddies defence has to be solid tomorrow because City are deadly from broken play and usually punish their opponents on the scoreboard with their strong support play on the outside and inside.
