NSW AAGPS 2025 (banter and commentary)

So true, but it's becoming a joke. Scots crowd weren't even allowed to do the "hey hey hey, goodbye" after Shore got given a card. and then there is Kings doing the "... are wankers" and "what do we think of ....? shit!"

We also couldn't even run a little closer to the touch line when the 1s and 2s were celebrating the win, we just had to celebrate 5 metres away, it was like social distancing. Shore couldn't even storm the field when they won their first championship in like 56 years, what a joke.

I'm all for respect between the greatest schools in the southern hemisphere, but there is a line, and singing goodbye or storming the field is not across that. I believe that swearing in chants aimed towards the other school, or booing or disrupting conversions, is across that line.

Teachers need to be given a blanket rule across all schools, as do the boys, so they know what's right and wrong.

Any opinions?
"Couldn't say it better myself". When being in the crowd at an AAGPS game you want to feel in and amongst the game not out of it. Ever since when joeys stormed the field against riverview the AAGPS association has gripped ahold of this culture. I myself was at that game and it was like nothing i have ever seen before, i have been to many AAGPS games over the past 20 years and have never experienced anything like it. The atmosphere was at another level!

What year they came in doesn't really matter. Rugby players are brought it at all ages....

I can happily provide some information based on who is and who isn't a Newington school fee-paying student on another forum. (Sneak peek 1 back)
Let's just say half the team isn't a Newington school fee-paying student.Outstanding rugby players though

Spot on, the boys go to the games for the atmosphere, the culture and the fun, they are representing their school and they chose to support, let them have a bit of fun.
And even for the boys on the field, I loved it when I was on the field and had a huge, loud crowd, but now they can't say anything.

would beg to differ top CAS vs top GPS certainly go head to head.
I don’t think the top CAS schools could go head to head during the comp season. Barker have a strong firsts but close to zero depth. so whilst they might be competitive in an early pre comp game they won’t survive the attritional nature of the full season. They are competitive in the preseason because they don’t have the depth to require the testing of combinations (unlike the GPS teams) and they would be uncompetitive in season because they don’t have the depth to provide back up for the inevitable injuries. Knox aren’t much better and the other CAS schools are trending that way. Of course Barker (and increasingly the whole CAS cohort) are problematic for other reasons, in particular they can’t provide a worthwhile game in quality or number beyond the 3.15pm slot.

Your wrong in saying that barker doesn't have strong depth. Barker has quiet a strong 2nds team who are currently undefeated in the CAS season. Same as there 16as. I am confident in saying that Barker 1sts, 2nds and 16as will win CAS this year.

Gumnut out.
I agree Gumnut, but although the good As they have very poor Bs and Cs. Most ages dont even have a cs at that.

ngrugby team of the week - round 2:

1. Tancred (Riverview)
2. Smith (Kings)
3. Osborne (Riverview)
4. Bull (Scots)
5. Galligan (Shore)
6. Clout (Shore)
7. Ghattas (Joeys)
8. Simmons (Newington)
9. Grover (Riverview)
10. Tremlett (Scots)
11. Makasini (Newington)
12. Anitela-Tsoulssis (Newington)
13. O'Connor (Joeys)
14. Scarr (Riverview) (moved from 13 - 14)
15. Minto (Joeys)

ngrugby player of round 2: Split between Minto (J), Grover (I), and Anitela-Tsoulssis(N) but going to go Anitela-Tsoulssis(N).

Makasini put on a great hit and had some nice touches, but i think the 3 other wingers in that game alone were better than him
