Anyone at any of the trial games today that can give updates?
TGS vs BBC was a pretty good match, was 14-14 up until the last 15 minutes, TGS put on the bench but i still think BBC were the better side. TGS also had 4 starters out but BBC look like a very big team, forwards outplayed the TGS boys. Harrison Asi and Tavita Loughland both played out of their skin, TGS forwards stood no chance. Quiet game from Myles Rosemond who only played half a game, then Adam Davis came on at fullback, i personally thought Adam played better and looked dangerous. Luke Burrow i thought was outstanding, he had Kiama Jione (Reds u16s 8) in front of him and Tai Taka and Luke dealt with both of them well. His fellow centre Petelo Maka played just as well but in the attacking field, he was hitting holes and running hard. I thought TGS lacked aggression and intent in the game which is smth I hope they bounce back from next week against Terrace.

Agree with parts of your assessment of the game. However TGS scrum dominated BBC all day. And yes BBC are a bigger side in appearance but again TGS handled this size for a majority of the game. BBC only blew the score out in the last 10mins of the game. Will great to see who wins the battle for fullback between Myles and Adam. However believe Adam will end up in the centres with Petelo come season start. TGS controlled large parts for the game.

I think Myles will retain the fullback spot and after the way Petelo played i think Adam will stay on the wing instead of Will McKay. Whilst yes I agree TGS scrum were better than BBCs, in actual gameplay BBC forwards dominated TGS with every carry and in defence, furthermore TGS lineout was atrocious, for the last few years TGSs lineout has been its strength but this year it was woeful and Gray O Niell took full advantage. Not to mention next week TGS’s scrum only gets stronger with the return of Rupeni and Keegan Cook and James Tulikaki the new prop.

Possible TGS lineup for Terrace next week:
  1. Harrison Humphreys
  2. Ruben Kruger
  3. James Tulikaki
  4. Craig Thaggard
  5. Rupeni Baravilala (c)
  6. Ethan Ramsey
  7. Keegan Cook
  8. Rhymen Tuilagi-Tusi
  9. Sam Elms
  10. Cooper Brown
  11. Adam Davis
  12. Luke Burrow
  13. Petelo Maka
  14. Isiah Wuruki
  15. Myles Rosemond
