QLD GPS 2025

Speaking of Northgate, are the Grammar fields the deadest in the GPS in terms of atmosphere? If you saw the huge hill next to the main field, you would think of the field as a cauldron, but being so far from the field, the voices of the quiet academic scholars do not reach even the sideline. It doesn't help being right next to the airport, as the planes drown out the few cheers.

Also, which ground has the best atmosphere in the GPS? Personally, I would say either NC or GT, or BSHS at the school field.

Tough to create a good atmosphere when you have 20 people out there watching the firsts at Northgate. 15 of those are the bgs parents.

Hard to pass on Gallipoli. Rich in history and success and very passionate schoolboys. War Cry practice every week in rugby season certainly helps

Was just having a quick look at Rugby Xplorer, and the GT team list has been entered. It is as follows:

1. Harbottle
2. Hollyman
3. N Weir
7. A Illot
8. Nasser
9. Hales
10. Clifford
12. Iraguha
15. T Weir

16. Jackson

Obviously not a full team list, what do we think of this side as it is?

As a bshs old boy, there is nothing better than State High Day at the school.

I still remember in 2023 when the firsts got up over nudgee

I believe State High Day is on the 2nd of August and will again be played against Nudgee College, shapes up to be a great day as bshs attempt to avenge there premiership defeat in 2024.

Looks like a strong side, Will Devine, Rupert Mgrath and a kid from ATC not sure of his name apparently he is very good, will fill the rest of the forward positions. Not sure about the two wingers but I beleive Ione Feanuti is playing outside this Saturday. When Roman Maive returns from injury he will mostly play loose head but other then that it is mostly a full strength side to play The Protestants this weekend.

A kid from ATC? Meaning the catholic school in Indooroopilly?

I could be wrong, but think I heard BSHS play BBC on State High Day.

Oh mate, you’re chessed big time. Like red faced, vein throbbing, typing with your elbows chessed. You’ve gone from defending Kingsley to writing full Greek tragedy about Levi’s “rolls” and somehow managed to bring up Nudgee’s budget like you’re pitching for Four Corners.

Let’s clear a few things up. No I’m not Levi’s dad but I'm a proud NCOB who backs the boys when they step up against hate, disrespect, and whatever this unhinged essay was supposed to be. You call us entitled? Nah, we just don’t sit quietly when our players cop garbage.

Now onto Kingsley. Look, I get it, you love the bloke. But saying he folded NZ schools doesn’t mean he’s untouchable. Levi’s not some Year 11 hobby prop. He’s a steamroller with a jawline, and tomorrow he’s coming with receipts. That shoulder Kingsley’s banking on? Gonna meet a brick wall of blue and white.

And let’s not pretend TSS isn’t rattled. The whole squad's foaming at the mouth, acting like Nudgee existing is some personal attack. You say the game’s a warning? We agree. It’s a warning that when Nudgee shows up, the talking stops and the scoreboard does the work.

Keep going tuggy. I’ve got snacks and a front row seat to Kingsley’s demise tomorrow
Let me tell you nutter, the shark tank are about to bite the head of the bear. TSS have to much class around park and this big paragraph you've wrote is all for nothing. We will rise to the occasion and show the nudgee OLD boys who's the best. Levi is gonna go through hell tomorrow.

Ah yes,

I must say I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment. I’ve been told about a lad from Grammar young Angus "Ang" Watts, they call him and by all accounts, he’s an absolute workhorse in that number 6 jersey. The boy’s a menace at the breakdown, puts in bone-rattling tackles, and brings a level of intensity you just can’t coach. He’s the sort of bloke who does the gritty work in the engine room, the unsung stuff that wins you games. If Grammar has any hopes of avoiding another stint at the bottom of the ladder this season, young Ang will need to be front and centre. Let’s hope the rest of the squad follows his lead.
Yes THH,
I sometimes wander down to GPS cross country to have a yarn with old mates, and I happened to see Angus "Ang" Watts in the 3rd KM. He was dying, but around 50 BGS boys were running alongside kicking him foward. It was a glorious sight to see as he overtook a terrace rival on heartbreak hill. For this man, he is pure heart and tikka, and is the backbone of the team. I hope to see a standout performance from him this season.

Is this the same Mr Watts that played 3rd's last year?..........

Yes pretty sure it is
Angus "ang" Watts is a renowned rugby player in the grammar community, was catching up with an old mate from school and said that i need to keep a fresh eye on the young gun from grammar. Ive heard word that hes starting in the first XV this year a true athlete.

Yeah T42, I happen to agree with this. After that performance I witnessed on XC, I would expect none the less. Yeah, there are too many younguns infiltrating the forum throwing shade on other schools. It is utterly despicable. "weeoooowwww". This is a place for collaboration. The proof will be in the pudding this year boys.

Ive heard reports new scholarship from Mt Isa to GT Hugo Hawke who recently played in the u16 Australia rugby team with the likes of Hemi Rakutia and Harry Asi is set for a stellar campaign this year. Watch out for his hard running and big hits. "I run and tackle to hurt" Hugo Hawke.
Cheers

TGS socials have posted their trial match team, some new blood in the team and besides myles rosemond a completely new backline from 2024. Interested to see how these boys line up against a very strong BBC side, BBC definitely have size to their advantage with the likes of Kiama Jione and Tai Taka. Petelo Maka with his first hit out with the grammar boys, ill be keen to see how he holds up against aussie u16s Tai Taka, I do however know Maka has great acceleration and quick feet so it'll definitely be a match up that shouldn't be missed.
