QLD GPS 2025

The Bull

Toowoomba with most back and some quality inclusions will be a 20 point better team this year
BBC also much improved
TSS have 5 players who may be the best of their position in the comp.

William Fanshawe anyone familiar?
Mate, I am familiar with this absolute unit, William "Fangie" Fanshawe, Brookfields Finest Export Since (BBCOB, 25) Gussy Collins. After learning the game played in heaven with his boys from the swishh at IGS to BBC where he mastered his trade, and let me tell ya, the bloke is a bloody monster. Standing at a ridiculous 6'8", he's exactly what BBC needs some proper height, skill, and lineout dominance. And mate, not only is Fangie a towering beast in the second row, but he’s also a deadset weapon across multiple sports. Top scorer for the BBC 2s in cricket, one of the tennis captains this bloke is an absolute demon. Whether he’s smashing sixes, serving rockets, or dominating the lineout, he’s got it all. If anyone’s gonna help BBC bring home that third title, it’s this fella.

As always,
DB

TGS will be a road train in the comp this year, looking to prove the doubters wrong for their school’s 150th birthday.

Don’t understand what TGS are doing currently, chat from first XV squad is Rhymen Tusi has moved to 8. Arguably biggest mistake TGS are gonna make. Having the likes of Tusi at 12 boosts TGS backline substantially, especially with rumours Adam Davis is moving to 13. Moving him to 8 results in Craig Thaggard being dropped and personally he’s a must have in my TGS team, strong ball carrier, trustworthy in defence and smart footy player, coming off a great 16A’s season as well.

I’m hearing from TGS there is loads of different options being explored. I can put your mind at ease though Craig will be in the starting team from what I’m hearing even if Rhymen is at 8.

if rhymen is at 8 i see no spot for craig thaggard, at 6 ethan ramsay, at 7 keegan cook, he’s too small to play in the second row and even if they played him there he wouldn’t start over rupeni or ben. Cant play prop or hooker and wouldn’t play over new imports plus humphries and kruger.

How are the schools tracking with their preparation for the 2025 season? Only asking as schools must be starting to knuckle down on squad selections and performances going into Easter holidays with camps, etc. I can say that Nudgee have finally started to produce a more sustained off-season. With only cutting their squad down fully (around 40 people, will drop more but this squad also contains 2nd XV players) last week Nudgee have had a close look at every single player who put their hand up to play. Godspeed for them as they are hunting for their 46th Premiership. But needless to say, they will definitely definitely have a HUGE target on their back as the villains of the GPS. Rumours have been heard that TGS have been ruthless in their off-season, as well as terrace, in an attempt to claim the trophy in their 150th year celebrations. Not to mention BBC as being one of the top three teams this year with many repeating players. However, the dark horses this year, IGS, will also come in with closed fist as most of their team last year was year 11 heavy.

Regardless, I'm keen to hear all your thoughts.

Good afternoon, gentlemen,
It’s great to see the forum actively discussing the upcoming pre-season and speculating on the competition landscape. I’d like to hear your thoughts on Brisbane Grammar School (BGS) this year—do you believe they have the potential to secure a victory and put an end to their losing streak from the 2023-24 season? Looking forward to your insights.
