Tizzano is a good player, but on the evidence of the rugby championship and spring tour there is still a pretty big gap between the two at international level.Tizzano is not all that far behind McReight.

My error, but the point still holds.Japan making the offer in this case. I get the feeling that the French clubs don't value 7s nearly as much as Australians do
Not overly surprised by that.It is interesting to see where the French clubs invest in players, and where Australian rugby does.
I don't think we would align very well with their priorities.
I don't necessarily think the French are right here
Not overly surprised by that.
They probably have so many they don't need to pay overs!#5 the highest valued in France. Here in Aus few fans seem to get the difference between loosehead and tighthead locks.
Surprised to see #3 so far down the list.
While I don't dispute that McReight is one of (or even) our best players, contracting is about opportunity and value for both sides. Is Tizzano as good as McReight, no but if he is willing to be contracted for half of what McReight is does that make McReight more expendable, of course it does.I don't think Tupou is a great example. It's clearly a bad contract that won't be renewed at anywhere near that price point.
We can't offer the same amount as an overseas team trying to poach a player. That would be foolish. We should be able to pay McReight about 80% of it though. He's a critical player and easily one of the best we have.
They’re all skinny, malnourished short kings over in France so they have to pay overs for locks. Whereas they grow on trees down here.#5 the highest valued in France. Here in Aus few fans seem to get the difference between loosehead and tighthead locks.

Yeah that list is essentially a physiognomy rarity scale with the exception of the halves. They’re all skinny, malnourished short kings over in France so they have to pay overs for locks. Whereas they grow on trees down here.
I guess if you buy enough of them as 16 year olds!!!They probably have so many they don't need to pay overs!
If it's Kiss, it's probably Zane Hilton at the Reds. With the rumor's around that the Wallaby coach should be announced next week, the other question is; if Kiss, Larkham or Mckellar are selected, who replaces them at their club?
Seibs was the Aust A coach but has taken a role in the UK. Chris Latham and Hoiles aren't there yet, and there is a shocking lack of top-level experience from anyone else in the country. Cheika is the only other name that comes to mind.
Zane Hilton is probably the favourite to replace Les Kiss at the Reds, not sure he'd be too quick to jump elsewhere though. Latham might be a candidate to come in as a backs coach. With the rumor's around that the Wallaby coach should be announced next week, the other question is; if Kiss, Larkham or Mckellar are selected, who replaces them at their club?

Maybe they just want a Schmidt disciple ahead of the 2027 RWC - Schmidt has said he's still interested in a consulting type role so maybe this is the next best thing under the circumstances and given the dearth of available and suitable international coaches at this point in the cycle.Listening to Doran’s mail on the next coach, he seems to think Kiss is the favourite and Larkham & McKellar aren’t really in the running
If that’s the case, I’d genuinely love to know what Les Kiss has done that makes him a superior candidate? Him being mates with Joe Schmidt seems to matter more than it should for a high performance job. The nativity of his gameplan vs the Crusaders didn’t exactly scream coaching mastermind either
"I think of the three Australian coaches that are in line, Les Kiss is the favourite. He's the most experienced coach.
"He's got a good relationship, with the Ireland set up, for what Joe Schmidt had. He has been the favourite because it just seemed to fit.
"It's a team that he's done well with last year, the Reds, and they're expected to continue to improve. He's a guy that coached me 20 years ago (at the Waratahs), outstanding coach, great human.
"Going to be interesting to have a former Origin great, Queenslander, coach the Wallabies if it happens."
