It depends, it is like the Cullen vs Bourke argument.

Do you want the absolute professional who plays perfectly 98% of the time or the guy who will range between 80% and 120% randomly, Beale's propensity for the too many chip kicks puts him behind Mils at the moment IMHO.

KB (Kurtley Beale) plays a different role in th WBs bqckline than that of Mils in the ABs. So it is very much the the Burke vs Cullen argument in reverse (terms of styles of play). However, I actually think KB (Kurtley Beale) 80% is actually very close to Mils 95-98%. I'd dare say if both faced off on a day where both were at 100% KB (Kurtley Beale) would be the clear victor. Just my opinion of course. Additionally, put yourself in the shoes of those who have to deal with both. On one hand you have a excellent No.15 who can punish given the space and does the fundamentals probably better than most. On the other hand you have a potentially brilliant No.15 who can doesn't need the holes to open up (it does help) but can make his own out of nowhere, in his first season can probably claim the mantle of the most entertaining and dangerous player in the world and one who has greatly improved his fitness and defensive abilities. Which one would you prefer to play against?

Perhaps the most telling thing for me is that of the many Kiwi's I know of which rate KB (Kurtley Beale) so highly (the sort that if a World XV were to be selected today would usually have Abs from 1-22) that the would love to see him in a AB jersey speaks volumes. Just my opinion, I have been a fan of the bloke since I first saw him playing at schoolboy level so there's a great deal of bias here.

I havent seen enough of him, but was Ashton that good?
He scored an excellent try against us, but a lot of that was set up by Ben Youngs drawing the defenders, Ashton still had some work to do mind.

Has he done much else?

Played really well for Northampton last season, top try scorer in Europe I think.

Played well against france 6N but butchered a try, played well in both tests against AUS down under, played well in every match this autumn.

Some work to do, haha It wasn't a Lomu style try (french 99 WC) but it was still impressive rounded mitchell and showed great pace.

Not the best video that could be made but couldnt find any others, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1aikvls9lY
