The Super Try could result in farcical scenes. Imagine a team is down by 8 or 9 in the final minutes of the game. The team with the lead clears their 22 with a kick, which lands around the halfway line.

The player catches the ball on the halfway, but as they are down 8 they need a Super Try to win. So wouldn't the logical play be to run towards your own tryline, and ensure you are tackled inside your own 22 so the Super Try is in play?
.

Presumably you can't take it back. Guess things like this need to be ironed out over time though.

The way it worked in the Varsity Cup was that it had to start in the 22m and not brought back in order to instigate it. I assume it will be the same here.

Ticketmaster is indicating that nib is close to a sell-out.

Taking into account the stage space for Wolfmother this means <20,000.

Best crowd at nib last year was 14,089 against Chiefs.

Best crowd in Aussie Super Rugby in 2017 was 18,781 - Reds v Tahs.

Best Crowd in Aussie Super Rugby 2018 so far 16,135 - Rebels v Canes

Best most recent crowd at nib was 20,283 for the 2016 League Test Match - Kangaroos v New Zealand.

Well done WA. :)

(I'll post the final number here: 19,466) (SEA OF BLUE SELL OUT)

I actually wonder if this is what happens when you have actual visual advertisements around town?

I was always pretty irritated that during their Super Rugby existence, the Force only concentrated on mainly the rugby community, more should have been done getting into the mainstream psyche, in the same way the Wildcats and Scorchers have done.

Just noted and preset recording of live World Series game on Foxtel 8.30pm Friday night. Note channel 10 only has to be advised from 9.30 to 10.30. Gees would be great achievement if got twiggy ball on fta

Yeh might need to iron out a few things but let’s face it rugby needs some innovation to compete against other entertainment products and big bash classic example of where rule variations can lead to greater product appeal.

Rugby in lot of bother in this country so I applaud attempts to be innovative. Some will work and some won’t but to build this new competition I agree they will need to do something different.

Arrgh! We don't need it LIVE in Perth. The best we should get on free-to-air is a delayed telecast; encourage as many people as possible to come out and put bums on seats- UNLESS- don't tell me it's a SELL-OUT?!

It looks that way from the Ticketmaster website (HOLY SH!T!) :D

Sounds like they will have sell out at the game anyway so live broadcast in Perth makes sense to get wider fan base and capture casual sports viewers.

Rumour has it that it's only the Fiji game that will be live - in celebration of the start of WSR.

Other games will be delayed in Perth in the same way as AFL.

The last time the Western Force attracted a >20,000 crowd was 22,000 for Force v Crusaders on 30 May 2011.

3 biggest crowds have been against the Crusaders.

Force v Sharks largest crowd against Sth Africa opponent in 2011 - 17,620.

Force v Brumbies largest crowd against Aussie opponent in 2010 - 17,300.

Force v Chiefs was the largest crowd in 2017 - 14,100.
