G'day HB

There's a pre-game of Western Force Women v Hong Kong Women starting at 2PM.
As fars as I know this isn't on FTA.

I don't think it will be a sell-out but well >10,000 (at that number Monday)
It is Mothers' Day after all.

FF (Folau Fainga'a), I am loving what's happening in the West.

So much hype for the first game, and justifiably so.

Just hadn't heard much about this one. This thread a case in point.

Great if you get 10k + for a Sunday afternoon game.

Do we anything of the tourists?

Enjoyable afternoon/evening once again. A cracking day for it too. I thought when we had ball in hand we were threatening and scored some nice tries. Tonga were good for about 60 minutes and then injuries/fitness took their toll. A noticeable difference became evident in our scrum when Longbottom came on. We dominated after that.

Things got a little sloppy and unstructured in the last quarter but overall we weren't too bad.

Commentary with Gordon Bray and Chris Handy quality.

Game was fairly scrappy at times. Tongans were competitive for first half and then fell away with injuries and can't judge the Tongan's too harshly given they had only been thrown together some 4 days before. So you could see a Tonga professional team potentially doing well I think in a pro indo pacific competition but again not based out of Tonga commercially. Unfortunately I think commercial side of things would make including Tonga too hard but we shall see I guess what Twiggy's team has planned.

Games against Rebels and Crusaders B teams will be the test.

Good crowd again. Hope this keeps up. Great to see some enthusiasm amongst the gloom.

Yeh although media claiming not a sellout - I thought 16k was pretty good especially considering Mothers day as no way would I have got a leave pass to attend footy yesterday like a lot of fathers.

Women's game was good, they like to throw it around a bit. Lots more space to run, real old-fashioned "backs vs backs" stuff; and plenty of one-handed offloads from the forwards.

A great family day, so no leave pass needed. It's not obvious on the broadcast but there's a lot of entertainment happening at the stadium, much of it focussed on the kids. Yesterday every mother got a rose or three as well.

Very good coverage with 3/4 of the inside back page of today's West.

Thanks Steve. I agree with the profile - definitely a player to keep an eye on. Maybe a better 6 than lock with his height/build?
