That 22 for Italy is giving me major Angry kid vibes

Feel like our backrow is our only real strength at the moment. Everything seems to come off those guys making half-breaks or powering through contact.

2 & 9 useless
The 9 has been alright. The charge down was no.2 fault. If you watch it again, he goes in to play the 2nd man in a Shield for the 9. Then he switches off and the Italian player blows between the players. He’s good around the park tho and hits a fair few rucks. Support play obviously top notch as well

Only some aspects of his game flawed but they are key - also not easy with a woeful scrum - 2 not up to it need to bring on RVN

Again, Lonergan killing it in the support game. Who expects it to be the hooker closest on a linebreak.

Taking the scrum on that penalty might have been the dumbest call of the day. Backs made it look good in the end but WTF.

Aussies were bettered at the set piece so it was good preparation for upcoming games Ireland and England

Defence was awesome, handling less so. We tried to push too many off-loads in the forwards.

McReight was brilliant and I’m liking to work of Wood. Some nice spark out wide with Lolesio, Lucas and Harrison. Harrison has a mighty boot but was off track a couple of times.

McDonald was slow and under constant pressure. I maintain he’s got the ugliest pass I’ve seen for a 9.

I think that game kicked off at about 9:30am local time? Would have been odd to prepare for.

A handy start with the next match requiring massive improvement.

Some great highlights from the Aus match. Very pleased to see Anuru Rangi's miniature clone getting it done on a classic hooker support line.

They look slick.

A win over Ireland or England next will show if they really are the mustard given how long their preparations can be.

I really hope this is the age group that stands up.

As noted, the set piece was under immense pressure. Not all LL's fault, but he was central to it all. A quality player nonetheless.

Cheers Reg, I only saw the highlights package so would have missed any other ugly scrums. I'm a basic man going prematurely bald so I'm just as impressed by his mad hair as I am his work in the tight
