Not entirely relevant to this thread, but seemed as good a spot as any to post it.

At last night's Walkley Awards, the Walkley for best sports photography went to Cameron Spencer for his brilliant shot of the New Zealand 7s haka in the rain (and an almost empty stadium) after winning the Hong Kong 7s.

Brilliant photo.

The Argentina men just played Brazil, and Brazil pushed them. Argentina scored one last try in the final seconds (off a missed Brazilian tackle) to make the score seem a little more uneven than it was, 17-5. They're not going to have that kind of luck against Fiji, but they might be able to score against France later today. (Fiji hammered France, and then hammered them again in the second half of the first half. And then kept that up throughout both halves of the second half.)

World Rugby looking after their broadcast partners:

http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby/...ugby-pulls-plug-on-sevens-tv-coverage-in-fiji

That'll learn Mr Bananarama, should've waited until after the (almost) democratic election & rushed through anti-siphoning legislation instead of issuing a decree whilst still head honcho of the military government.
World Rugby has apparently made an internet stream of the matches available to Fiji. Not that anyone couldn't find a stream anyway.

SCOTLAND 21-14 SAMOA, boil over of the tournament, surely. NZ 36-0 Japan, England 19-10 USA, Australia 29-12 Kenya, SA 24-12 Canada.

World Rugby has apparently made an internet stream of the matches available to Fiji. Not that anyone couldn't find a stream anyway.

I'd rather they hadn't, Bananarama almost always does what he thinks will be popular with "his" people & fuck the near-majority ethnic Indian community (who are mostly diveball fans & couldn't care less about rugby even if they had access to pay TV & or high speed internet). Anything that makes him look bad to "his" people is all good in my book (but he'll obviously spin it to make it look like he's yet again standing up for the rights of Melanesians vs everyone else).

^^^ Collins Injera and his brother were brilliant players for Kenya over the past few years and they carried them. They are no longer in the team and consequently the Kenya performance has regressed.

We're the best nation in Women's 7s now. IMO this is because we're now getting the best female athletic talent in the country playing rugby. Oh what could be if the Men's game went the same way.

Shit, I'd be happy if we could just build a time machine and wipe out just one of AFL or League. Reckon that'd be enough to see us entrenched at the top.
