Emphatic win by the Ferns.

We look very amateur by contrast. Basic skills, speed of hands and feet, as well as size, strength, and cohesion all a step below for NZ have.

Needs more time & funding, and less NRLW predatory behaviour...

Assuming the top section of the Eastern stand is unusable that has to be pretty close to a full house

Big win for the Wallaroos to kick off the WXV2. Great to see them step up after a couple of disappointing weeks and really dominate. Hopefully they can carry this form through the rest of the competition.

I'm dreaming, but after watching the NRLW semi-finals & WXV2 game against the Welsh. If we could get our juniors back & some of our ex & current 7's players, what a team we would have to get back into WXV1. All players have some experience in rugby.
Not sure on the reserve props, any suggestions?

1. Hoy
2. Tuafa*
3. Karpani
4. Leonard (c)
5. Millie Boyle*
6. Piper Duck
7. Marsters
8. Kemp*
9. Caslick
10.Jess Southwell*
11. Miller
12. Pelite*
13. Frederichs
14. Stewart
15. Madi Levi

16. Hooker, Isabella Nasser
17. Prop, Hannah Southwell* ?
18. Prop ??
19. Lock, #6, Clydsdale*/ Kernick*
20. Lock, #8 , Mato*
21. Half, Layne Morgan
22. #10, #15, Tonegato*/ Lauren Brown*
23. Outside back, Penitani*/ Bienne Terita
* leaguies now

Not quite sure on Madi Levi at fullback, she might be better at wing as she hasn't got the ball skills of a Tonegato. I thought Caslick at half would be best as she has her hands on the ball all the time & a great pass.
Lineout mauls & scrums early on might be a problem but we would kill them in open play with fitness & speed. Might even give the Poms & Kiwis a run for their money?

Solid win by the Wallaroos against the WomenBoks this morning. We made it hard for ourselves, with the stone-cold murder of about 4 tries. A very silly YC - lucky not to be red - and some little brainfarts with the ball. Scrum a bit wonky due mainly to the 2nd row IMHO, plus a bit of clever angling by the women in green.

We're 7 points better than them on a bad day as it turns out, and probably 20 or more if we played like we did against Wales.

Boks Women have improved significantly the last few years. No reason to think they can't be WXV1 contenders with a bit more time, resourcing, and fitness.

Agree completely. Ex 7s players should be our priority for the backs. Caslick said she wants to play fullback.

Hi Crashy , I just saw this reply but have just replied over on that other site under SA. That's interesting about where Caslick would like to play. Probably suit her attacking skills there better than half.

They are so close already with their forward depth especially in the front row.
If the Bokke coach had put on his bomb squad sooner they would've got us. Their reserve half was so good, why did he put a forward there in the first half?

yeah she actually told me that at a Bledisloe lunch. I actually suggested that she'd be a handy 12 but she laughed and said (not sure if she was being serious) that the tackling at 12 didnt appeal!
I guess she likes space as that's what she gets in 7s but no idea what her clearing kick is like.

They're not interested in the RWC?
Sources with knowledge of the situation talking on the condition of anonymity told the Herald the sisters have indicated they are reluctant to play the 15-a-side version of the sport and would prefer to earn the extra money available in rugby league.

Australia are not expected to be a major contender at the World Cup, with New Zealand, England, Canada and France the world’s top four ranked sides.

Whilst the second sentence is a statement by Chammas who is a pocket holding League journo it could also be part of it. If they don't really want to and it's not a prospect of winning they cbf. Can also imagine the RWC doesn't move the needle social media wise or with sponsors sadly which is a big part for these guys.

Shame, if we could replicate 10% of the 'Tillies hype that would be great.

Absolutely.

Hard part is the junior participation. We still have very few girls under 10 playing Rugby. Heaps in soccer, touch and Aus-Kick. These girls are the ones who had their minds blown by the Tillies and went fully in which is awesome for their future playing any sport and the buzz you can get from it. They already get it and want to go to the backyard and kick goals.

Wallaroos need generally Dad to make their daughter watch, and at times as we all know Rugby is a VERY hard sell to someone with no experience playing.

Agreed. My softcock brother who's sorta proudly anti-sports got crazy into the women's soccer world cup. Went to heaps of the games with his partner, I think it represented a fresh chance for him to get into sports without being weighed down by the years of history and macho-ness of men's sports.
