Bugger me, I am feeling quite confident now. Off to Vanautu for a week so will be looking for a bar in Port Vila to watch.

Have fun teach (lucky bugger) - Though I am hoping that you'll need to drown your sorrows at said bar :D

But how many tried did they concede against crap opposition?

Does that matter unless you're calling the AB's crap opposition? The whole point was the Wallabies stepped up the defence when it was a big game, it's understandable to not play at 100% when the scoreboard is heavily in your favour. I didn't include how many tries the ABs let in when playing Tonga, Canada or Japan either - which is 4, same as us against Russia and the USA.

My mistake.

At the end of the day, it is going to be very hard to make comparisons with 2 different teams facing different sets of opposition. Stating the obvious I know. But while some comfort can be gained by statistics, I think they are essentially meaningless.

The Welsh have made it to the semi final in every RWC that has been hosted in NZ. Sounds like they are repeating history just as much as anyone else.

Personally, I am hoping that little piece of history doesn't recur, 4th would be somewhat of a disappointment now.

Wallabies, because they are last alphabetically. We will play Wales in the final because they are second last alpha....
Final score 9 to 5 (number of letters in the names)

Well it makes as much sense as statistics :)

Blecks.

If you don't believe that you are kidding yourself.

Cruden will be alright, Weepu will slot the goals, and that's that.

They have their best back three back for the semi and th rest of the team is settled. Their pack will lay the foundation.

Agree Blacks are clear favourites. But disagree we're kidding ourselves to win. Even with Carter playing we've already shown we can win.

Will be a tough game with serious home advantage, but the kiwis will put themselves under immense pressure. Huge expectations on them, any cracks have the potential to become glaring wounds psychologically.

Wales will win. The most obscure team with the most obscure draw in the most obscure part of the world.

I'd love to see it happen if the Wobs don't get up. My second team.

Not that it pleases me too much.
However, I can honestly say that I would be happy enough for any of these teams to win. Obviously, I desperately want the Wallabies to win. But NZ have been good enough for long enough that it is impossible to say they don't deserve it; France would get pissed for a week then lose their next Test to Italy in all likelihood, plus they've made the semis every time, so they are real contenders; Wales have the heritage and are playing the most attractive rugby of any team at the moment, plus they probably wouldn't award themselves knighthoods and MBEs if they won.

Not even a country, mind.

Nice place. They can sing, and...and...and, they have lots of green hills, and..and...and...sheep! They have sheep! No, hang on that's New Zealand.

Uhm.

Oh! Tom! They gave us Tom!!!!

And...and...and...(someone help me here)

Maybe no knighthoods or mbe's but how many Lord's, lady's or orders of the gnome can we put up with.
