Anyone but Australia. I say that with a lot of regret.

EDIT: Not because we are 'bad' supporters, but rather so quiet you wonder if there really there. Mythical.

45,000 Welsh fans are apparently off to Millennium Stadium at 7:30am on Saturday to watch the match.

I think they win with that effort.

I don't think many people take losing well to be honest, I guess I am measuring this on how sociable people are when supporting their team both for those around them. The whole thread is based around making sweeping generalisations, I think you might be alluding to that. I'm just going on personal experience, and I'm not saying the Welsh are are bad at all, it's hard to beat the atmosphere of a packed out home test in Cardiff (although last time I went there were plenty of empty seats). Just find it funny that you boyos say/imply that this poll must be retarded if *shock horror* people haven't voted for Wales as the best fans in the world.

I think the best of the world cup is the atmosphere it generates around it. There's something missing from the professional game these days of people getting together and just enjoying each others' company because they love rugby. The RWC provides it and makes it really special. would love to get over there. Heard form a couple of friends who were home-staying in Hamilton . apparently had the time of their lives. Loved the last WC here when the welsh were based in Canberra.

Apparently they're expecting 40-75,000 at Miennium stadium in cardiff at 9am in morning. Scary how optimism has taken over

attendance - how many of them show up
Given the numbers who turn up at the "national" oval to watch a game live on a big screen, if the title does not go to the Welsh, then they should get HM.
I suspect that the criteria is based on "how many of them show up" to games in NZ.
There is a certain quality in quantity. 45-50 thousand is some quantity.

noise - how much noise do they make, singing, cheering etc
Singing - The Boyos have to win this hands down. Always have done. Welsh seem to be best at traditional singing rather than making musical noise and simple chants.

Colours - how much colour do they show, jersey wearing, face painting fancy costumes etc.
Hasn't Hong Kong Sevens (and latterly the IRB 7's circuit) got a lot to answer for?
I think that this aspect may let the Welsh down slightly as they take their rugby a bit too seriously to go way over the top with dress ups.
The French or Argies would win this one.

Gross generalisations FWIW.

In my experience both from "Foreigners" visiting here, or when I've been overseas following Wobs or club teams, I have found nearly ALL rugby tourists to be AWESOME regardless of where they come from, even Soap Dodgers.

I can't really think of seriously bad experience I've had with any rugby tourist, whether I or they have been sober or alcohol enhanced. We've always been there for the Rugby first and foremost - a common language and culture.
