Which country at the world cup has the best supporters?

criteria

attendance - how many of them show up
noise - how much noise do they make, singing, cheering etc
Colours - how much colour do they show, jersey wearing, face painting fancy costumes etc.

For me the clear winner is Argentina, how loud where they against scotland, and they all hung around after the game and just did not stop cheering. Passion right there.

I have to say the English at home are unrivalled, the Poms support anything wearing White and Red no matter the sport.

Irish and Scottish close behind.

USA fans were fantastic on Friday even if half of them were disguised Kiwis.

Red, white & blue all over the place, heaps of costumes everywhere too from Abe Lincoln, to superheroes like wonder woman, superman, captain America, even some Hulk Hogans & Obamas.

Good spectacle and good for a laugh even though they were getting thumped on the field. And plenty of noise too.

French are right up there too.

Sad to say, Wallaby supporters are the quietest.

At least not all Aussies are like that, look at the rabid Collingwood supporters...my mate who is a very diehard fan of the Magpies is often embarrassed at the antics of his fellow supporters...

If you have been in Auckland this last few weeks it has been resoundingly the Tonga supporters. Noise, color and plenty of support.

Hard to go past the Argentina supporters from what you see on TV. They don't skimp on the facepaint or the costumes.

I reckon Wallaby supporters. They're still turning up in big numbers despite knowing that the majority of them will be spat on, have beer poured on them, cop verbal abuse, be pushed down stairs and maybe even have one of our MPs have a go at them. Now that's commitment. :p

I'm in the Wellington region and I reckon Tonga has had the best supporters here. Tongan flags are everywhere and their supporters are a great bunch. Followed closely by Samoa.

You could, but no-one would believe you!

Who wouldnt want to hang out with a bunch of guys like us? ;)

Seriously after the shit that has been served up since 2007, I gotta say that Wallaby fans have to be a sho-in for most loyal.

The OP's criteria:
* Attendance - how many of them show up
* Noise - how much noise do they make, singing, cheering etc
* Colours - how much colour do they show, jersey wearing, face painting fancy costumes etc.

Aussies may tick off the attendance, but none of the others. Not a pass mark in my books.

This should only have ever been decided based on photos or video footage and I'm embarrassed to be a member of a forum where non-visual analysis was ever a consideration.

I agree, how were we to ever decide this without evidence of the, um, special talents, of some Argentine supporters in particular

Argentina and France easily. The Argentine crowd are both vocal and visibly noticeable and creative. Whilst the French costumes continue to amuse me.
